Long story short, Doc Romy and her team fixed up both my dog and my horse after a dog attacked both of them. Our dog needed stitches for a gaping wound on her throat, they got her in first thing that next morning and she was right as rain.

My horse took a bit longer to show the seriousness of his injuries and it was after hours when we saw HOW bad it was.

Doc came out to the ranch! After a long day of clients and she was still chipper, compassionate and professional.

She put me at ease, got us the things we needed that could no longer be secured by civilians, and treated my old horse with respect.

Doc Romy even followed up with us over the weekend to see how he was doing!

It’s hard to find a good veterinarian these days.
And She’s the real deal.

Great team.

Dr. Nicoletta and Dr. Hay have taken good care of our dogs, horses and cattle! The vet assistants are awesome too. Dr Nicoletta traveled out to our place late on a Friday night to treat a rattlesnake bite on my 32 year old gelding. He is alive and well, thanks to her dedication to her profession. The photos are the night of the bite and the morning after. It's now a month out and he is back to his old, ornery self and no lameness is evident!

Dr Nicoletta is one of the most compassionate vets I have ever seen. She really knows her stuff and takes the time to explain everything but she also is so extremely kind to pets and seems to care about every animal she sees. My dogs responded to her instantly, even my very shy dog loved her. Her staff is excellent too!! I would recommend this office to anyone!

Our first time coming here and now we won't go anywhere else! We took our very sick little dog here and they treated us, and our little dog like family. Everyone was very caring and professional, from April at the front desk to Dr. Schroeder, Melissa and the entire staff. They have also made several follow up phone calls to check on him, including one made by the Doctor personally. We believe they saved our little dogs life! We can not thank them enough.

Called Rio Cucharas on 2/8/22 to inform them that my cat had blood in her urine. The receptionist said there would be no vets on duty until Monday, 2/14. She assured me she'd call me on Thursday to let me know when I could bring my cat in. It's now Friday., 4PM and I haven't heard back. This is the second time I have called this clinic (the first was for an abscessed tooth my cat suffered) and, again, no vet available. What's the point of even trying anymore? Done with them.

So I get a response that they're not accepting new patients at this time. Maybe the receptionist should be better trained to alert people to this. Can't believe they don't care enough to see a cat for crying-pout-loud. This clinic obviously doesn't care about animal welfare. Their concern lies in managing their work load and over-charging for euthanasia (they charged me $100.00 to euthanize my dog!) Thanks for nothing.

I am very disappointed with the lack of professionalism at this clinic. They don't seem to care about my 14 yr old dog. Not only do they not call you back but when you go there for an appointment the door is locked. They say due to a surgery. Well thanks for the call to reschedule. Not only did I miss time from work but it wasted 2 hours of my day and my 14 year old dog was not seen. I highly recommend finding a different vet. I sure did.

I have had two emergency visits here and routine exams. Every time the staff have been accommodating and truly genuine. Most clinics in Pueblo would have charged more. They do their best to stay reasonably priced. They have saved my dogs life twice and I am extremely grateful and highly recommend this clinic.

While paying for my service, the office manager was rudely talking to a customer about money he owed and hung up on, then went into the back and talked loudly about him with the other staff. I then waited 15 minutes until someone else gave me my receipt.

I was charged an emergency fee of $85! I was not told I would be charged this. It was a Friday afternoon and she said she would "fit me in". My dog has medical issues, but he wasn't dying and it wasn't an emergency situation! AND if you did consider it such an emergency, why did you have me waiting there for 3 hours?! They also charged me $100 for a bag of kibble. The Dr. mentioned I should give him special food, but no one gave me any details about this food before charging me.

The office manager refused to refund me, stating that because they fit me in, they had to charge an emergency fee. Why didn't you tell me that before I made the appointment? I told her I also wanted to do research on the food before I bought it. She said, "Go do research and call me back if you want to order it". I called her back and she refunded me but charged me a restocking fee, even though supposedly she hadn't ordered the food yet and I didn't even tell her I wanted it!

THEN I get the refund check in the mail (minus restocking fee) and she accompanies it with the most unprofessionally written letter I've ever seen from a Doctor's office. She wrote 2 paragraphs about how I need to take care of my animal correctly and I am probably not prepared to do so and that medical care is expensive and I should understand that. AND THEN she says that I do not value the opinion of the Dr. because I did not take her advice. ----BECAUSE OF KIBBLE?! and this? after telling me she encouraged my research!?

Patients have every right to get other opinions and do research. She had no idea why I didn't choose the food, didn't even ask me why and then wrote this presumptuous letter!? Perhaps I wanted to order my food at a different time or place or make my own. There are an abundance of options. Maybe I wanted to actually talk to the dr. about it later, which I attempted to do! I left messages, but my phone calls have not been returned to resolve this.

Dr. Romy, are you even aware of the unprofessionalism happening right under your nose?
I was going to forget all about this. I understand that customer service is tough, but then you sent me that absolutely insulting, unprofessional, presumptuous and uninformed letter?! Never again will I use your service. This office could use some training on people skills and how not to take advantage of their customers.
P.S. people, I know she's the only vet in town, but drive elsewhere. There's a new vet coming to Colorado City. Wait for them.
