Today was my daughter’s birthday and she really wanted to go swimming all together. We checked the app for open swim times and headed down and also confirmed with the front desk that it was open swim. He even got wristbands for the younger kids. We changed and headed to the pool and then got screamed at(I am assuming by an instructor) that the pool was closed.
I understand that schedules change frequently with different classes but seriously do better updating your app and your staff.
Luckily there was another YMCA that was more welcoming and accommodating.

I've been to all the YMCAs in this area and I've come to the downtown YMCA on and off for almost 5 years now and it is not a stretch to say this is most well-ran facility of them all. The staff is great in every category here and I have to say John specifically is such an asset to this location. He is truly a go-getter and you can tell he is passionate about taking care of this gym and its people.

I have been loyal to the YMCA for 10+ years - but this location has really gone downhill. The bathrooms are filthy, kids posing in the bathrooms to take pictures for social media with no regard to everyone else who is changing in the locker rooms, the machines are in terrible shape, and the “personal trainers” schedule large classes everyday during the busiest times and post signs around the gym blocking anyone from using the equipment.

How can anyone workout on their lunch break when you block half of the gym off?

Gross mismanagement and lack of communication between management and instructors. A popular instructor for muscle pump on Thursday's at 5:30 pm was out of the country for several weeks and the gym failed to get replacement instructors resulting in numerous 'NO SHOWS"! When asked to put the muscle pump class on a virtual screen, the gym personnel refused to do so since they hadn't heard from the possible substitute instructor as the class was already 30 minutes late. The gym personnel matter of factly stated "no class today" offering no apologies for yet another 'no show' and wasting everyone's time. So wrong! NO RESPECT FOR MEMBERS!!!!

For the last 2-3 months I've been having nothing but problems with my account. Sometime in Oct I updated my payment info which did not get updated & caused a late fee to my account & my autopay to not process for 2 months. I've talked to at least 7-9 staff memebers about my account & what the issue is b/c even after I paid it up to date, my account remained inactive & nobody had an answer. It wasn't until 1/28/25 that spoke with TIAH and she said that my account was flagged b/c of a situation that happened in May 2024 when I was harassed by a male in the gym & they decided to suspend my account for 3 months w/o even having a discussion with me about what happened but instead wanted to focus on how I reacted to being harassed instead of expressing any kind of concern that I was harassed in the 1st place. When I spoke with TIAH she claims that they had a system update in January that resulted in the note about this incident being put back on my account which flagged my account for a review that she needed to clear before I could reactive my membership that should've never been deactived in the 1st place. Then she also brings up the Google review that i left about the south branch on 1/21/25 & used that as an opportunity to say that I got into an altercation with one of their staff memebers in person about the late fee & my membership not being active & that I got upset about them not letting me in, which NEVER happened, then resulting in them putting another flag on my account. TIAH is very much a liar b/c I never knew anything about my account being inactive until around 1/19/25 ( the only time i went to the south branch in person, was to fill out the late fee waiver form that i was TOLD to do by a downtown staff memeber, i filled the form out & that was it, theres never any discussion about my account being inactive or me disputing the late fee outside of me filling out the form, which i filled out sometime in November) when i went to the north branch, which I was then given BELLA WARENS info to call her & figure out why my account was inactive. She told me I needed to pay my account up to date ( which I did the next day) & that they would not waive the late fee even though ymca staff did not process my payment info correctly. Not once did Bella ever mentioned my account being flagged with the note about the incident in May that was already resolved. I find it HIGHLY interesting that this note never got mentioned to me until after I made the Google Review on 1/21/25.
After me & TIAH spoke on the phone she told me I had to come in person to the downtown branch to reactive mmembership. When I get there she proceeds to tell me they will not let me reactive my account for 30 days b/c she claims iam disrespectful to her staff. She claimed I cussed at her, which is another lie & that she doesn't like the "tone" of my voice. So instead of them addressing the inconsistencies in how my account has been handled for the last 3 months, every conversation I have with management Is about the tone of my voice, which you can imagine my frustration after having so many issues?At one point during our in person conversation Tiah gets in my face to keep me from talking with another staff member who I spoke with back in Oct about updating my payment info. Tiah claims they have no knowledge or proof that I did that, so when I tried to get her to verify that with this staff memeber she steps in front of me & tells this staff member not to answer any of my questions. During our conversation TIAH lied about multiple things & I feel like ever since I was harassed in May, I've had nothing but problems from this facility. Prior to this incident I never has a single problem, now I feel like management is very much harassing me & has continued to invalidate every experience I have. There is no level of professionalism whatsoever. If their staff focused on fixing issues that they should be accountable for as much as they do when they bring up my tone of voice, I'm sure alot of this could've been avoided.
