I had an excellent experience with Sage. My cat, Kitty, started having respiratory issues late at night which gradually grew worse. I was grateful to find SAGE after contacting other hospitals that were too full to see him. They took him in quickly and explained all the steps that would need to take place to help his breathing and make him comfortable. Every person I spoke to was friendly, patient and understanding. I had to leave him overnight but I felt confident that he would be treated well based on my interactions with the team. He’s doing so much better now thanks to the wonderful staff at SAGE. It was a bit costly but I think the prices are fair for the quality of treatment he received.

I highly recommend SAGE veterinary center of San Francisco. All of the staff members are incredibly kind to me and my dogs. They went above and beyond to take great care of my lab, who got into grapes. The veterinarians explained everything in detail and answered all of my questions. The team here is wonderful and they helped save my dog’s life. Thank you for everything!

I’ve been going to SAGE oncology for the last year with my dog and they really have treated us like family. He had his leg amputated with surgery downstairs, which was also a really good experience. Overall, I’m really glad we came to SAGE for his treatment.

As far as cost, it is expensive, however you’re getting specialty care so it’s expected. It’s not more expensive than any other specialty vet I’ve found. They have in-house lab services, so that helps keep some costs down and expedited things. If you have insurance, then a lot of it’s covered, but unfortunately we did not so I’ve had to pay for everything out of pocket. It’s the only place where you can buy time. Totally worth it.

I also work everyday and the oncology clinic was really flexible and let me drop my dog off for his chemo appointments and any re-checks he needed. Super helpful and friendly staff!

UPDATE WITH PHOTOS!
Ronald Dregan is officially off her meds and is free to be a kitten again! Thanks to everyone at Sage for working with us so diligently to get Ronnie back to herself! Even when I called them today to ask if I should bring the nebulizer back, the receptionist, Abbey, was so kind and thoughtful on the phone. Y'all really know what you're doing and I simply cannot put into words how grateful I am for your dedication. They deserve a 10/5 and if I could rate that high I would! Thank you!

Everyone who has worked so diligently to help out Ronald Dregan has been so amazing. I simply cannot thank you all enough for all that you've done. Little Ronnie is still there and we aren't really sure what her outcome will be, but know we are forever grateful for your hard work. From the ER staff when I brought her in, to Dr. Beehler and her team, to the the ER staff taking care of her overnight, to the reception whenever I come in. I simply cannot thank you enough. ?

When we needed an emergency checkup after finding this poor little infant kitten at 5am being bullied by siblings from an older litter by the same feral parents, the people at Sage immediately took him as soon as we rushed in. He had been tossed around quite roughly so I was very worried about internal injuries/fractures, but thankfully he was quickly given the all clear beyond some superficial cuts and scrapes. While I personally have about 25 years of cat care experience for all ages, this little one was definitely the youngest I'd ever suddenly found myself in charge of and the dr made sure to print out all the relevant information I'd need to have with me on hand. There was a lot of worry he might be susceptible to FKS because of the unusualness of the mother bringing him to our yard so young and the older siblings attacking him, but I'm happy to say that three weeks on from that early morning he's still doing well and growing strong! He's turning out to be quite a rascally mama's boy, and has recently been bonding more with one of the older siblings I had captured a mere two days before finding him. I'm much more confident that he was simply a runt the mama kitty was having trouble with (he is a little behind where he should be at his age) and the other kittens going after him was simply just them being that rowdy age where anything and everything that moves is a "toy". A huge thank you to the team at Sage for being there for us at such a distressing moment! Very caring and considerate people who really made sure we were looked after.

Pet emergency care is something you hope you don't need, but want to have easily accessible if the time comes. We found SAGE online when our dog needed emergency care for some lacerations. They are open 24/7 and have loading zones out front to aid in dropoff. The facility in the Mission is beautiful, with a large waiting area and individual triage rooms connected directly to the treatment area that the vets and technicians access. Emergency pet care is an emotionally difficult situation, and the team at SAGE are reassuring, thorough, and professional. They went over the plan, involved us in the treatment discussion, and kept us updated at each step of evaluation. They also went over the post-procedure care thoroughly and were available for questions in follow-up. Highly recommend.

We would highly recommend Sage to anyone looking for pet care.

Our cat, Florence, had a few teeth removed at our normal vet. When she wouldn't stop bleeding, we took her to sage for overnight care. The doctors were all extremely kind, compassionate and communicative. When there was a decision to be made that involved cost, they were extremely upfront and transparent with the ranges of possible outcomes.

Be aware, the cost is somewhat high. A 24 hour hospitalization is in the range of $2,500. That being said, we would absolutely use Sage again if something happened to our cat in the future. We had peace of mind in a very stressful situation, and never felt "taken advantage of" as you can sometimes in situations like this.

Thank you Sage!!

All around awful experience. The staff, including the vet, vet techs, “nurse,” and front desk is rude, impatient, sarcastic, and pushy, not to
mention unsympathetic. No compassion or understanding. Also no one bothered to explain to me what would be best to do for my cat. Just the usual, “this will be this many thousand dollars….” No one talked to me about anything. Just a list of tests I was told i had to decide if he should get, though I’m not a vet. and no one could tell me if he actually needed them or answer my questions. Just a bunch of BS and the runaround. I wish there were more choices for urgent/after hours/vet care in this city.
