Takes a compassionate Dr and Vet Tech to drag themselves out into the cold at 11:00 pm on a Friday night to save my 10 and 12 year old Brittney’s. They caught kennel cough in a kennel out of state, which moved to pneumonia before I caught on. Even though the Dr was taking call for another vet they showed up quickly and unperturbed. I wish I had their names. My best boy is Ranger, but I call him son. He so shares my life as does his little brother. The boys are recovering now and my gratitude is great. Thank you from my soul. My senior dog, John Wayne was very sick. I was so worried. They helped me get him in quickly and let me do drops off when needed. He ended up having to be hospitalized for a couple days. Dr Benally and the staff took such great care of him and did not do unnecessary procedures. I couldn't be more thankful for all of them ❤️

I’m deeply disappointed with this veterinary “hospital,” which seems more focused on making money than on caring for animals. This morning, around 11, a friend’s 6-month-old puppy was tragically run over by a truck. When we called for help, they refused to see us, stating that we were not current clients. Despite my disbelief, the staff member I spoke to was cold and unhelpful, offering no compassion in the face of a dire situation. This experience highlights a troubling aspect of businesses driven solely by profit. The staff suggested we travel to Durango or Albuquerque—both hours away—despite knowing that the puppy likely wouldn't survive the trip. It’s disheartening to see such a lack of empathy and commitment to animal care. This was my second negative encounter with this clinic. Even without recognizing the clinic’s name, I was not surprised by the poor experience, once I recognized their website. For anyone looking for genuine care and compassion for their pets, I highly recommend Riverview in Durango. They immediately showed concern and didn’t hesitate to help us, regardless of our client status. They asked no questions until after we were on our way, ensuring we received the urgent care we needed as soon as we arrived. Another great one is Farmington Vet Clinic on Main Street. Please consider finding a clinic where the staff truly cares about your pets and prioritizes their well-being, this place is not it. UPDATE: The puppy did not survive the trip, he died.

I took my 1 year old chihuahua in to have her lokes at . She's been lethargic non responsive and not eating or sleeping since last night . She is all I have left in this word and is also my support dog as I'm disabled .. I was told if I did not have 800.00 in cash they would not even look at her . Then suggested I could open thier credit card that I could also use fir myself. This is how ugly the human race has gotten . I can't afford 800 cash I'm on a fixed income but instead of giving me some advise in what to do they would let her die than help her. So unless you have money don't even go into their office . I would never allow any group of people with such little compassion care for one of my family members . They are letting mine die

Our 18 year old dog was very sick. We knew we could have to put her down. Called all the vets in town and could only get appointment three weeks out. Called on Sunday and they told us to come in. Very caring and professional. They made a hard bearable. Thank you! I have three dogs and that is where they are going. Thank you Dr Benally!

From the front desk staff to the surgeon, San Juan Veterinary Hospital is kind, caring, and committed to providing quality care. They handled my large Mastiff with ease and showed him gentleness and kindness. Great vet! I'm a customer for life

I was hesitant to return to this vets office after my previous cat was misdiagnosed and given the wrong medication, went through very painful days before having to be out to sleep.
So when my current cat became sick, I made sure we were going to see a different dr.
The $600 deposit was outrageous for an emergency visit to start with. I was desperate to get my cat seen, she had been very sick and wouldn’t eat for about 3 days.
After the total bill came to $996 I wanted to know everything they did and why. This particular Dr we saw, was a woman of few words and wasn’t very open to my questions. I had my cats records sent to me via email and she noted things she didn’t even tell me about. She was also very eager to push the expensive monthly injections on us for my cats arthritis pain.
I have since found Angels Among Us in Bloomfield NM. I will never come back to San Juan veterinary hospital again.

My dog was incorrectly diagnosed with Parvo as it mimicked heart failure. My dog was fully vaccinated, but they guilted me because she was vaccinated with vaccines from a local feed store. They told me they don’t consider at home vaccinated animals vaccinated. So I believed them, despite no test. They treated her. She got worse. A couple months later, she died, after Dr. Kysar, a lifelong friend, diagnosed her with heart disease and said she had the biggest heart of any dog she had ever seen. The office manager Vianne, a fellow church goer and happy tax collector, and her minion Chrissy have since been harassing me and my mom for bill collection on treatment that should have never been done in the first place. I have made a payment every month and despite no written agreement they continue to harass me if I’m mere hours late on a verbal day in which I suggested I may be able to make the payment. Hours. I will be seeking the removal of Dr. Benallie’s license and retribution for the death of my dog. Don’t take your animal here unless you want to be guilted and want your animal dead.
