SAMC has some of the best veterinary staff I’ve ever had take care of my dogs.
As a dog trainer in the dog industry I can say with certainty that I have never felt more comfortable and confident in the care my personal dogs are getting until I moved to SAMC.
They’ve helped me tackle my older dogs kidney issues, are patient and not only allow me to advocate for my dogs and their individual needs, but encourage it and support it.
I LOVE that they do titers instead of vaccinating unnecessarily, I love that they have holistic remedies they go to first before moving to RXs.
The front desk girls are AMAZING, as is all of their staff. Dr. Fitzgerald has been absolutely wonderful with my girls and Jen is our go-to tech (she’s the bestttt!), but even when Jen isn’t there ALL the techs that we’ve worked with have been wonderful. I have not a single bad word to say about this office.

I have had bad experiences at a few vets in the past, and being able to feel calm and comfortable taking my girls into a vet office is a truly indescribable feeling!
100/10 stars. If they moved an hour away I would follow them!

This was my 1st visit to Sarasota Animal Medical Center and was impressed the minute I walked thru the door. Was greeted by Theresa and Christy, who were cheerful and professional. I was immediately taken into exam room by Vet tech Jen. I was very impressed that she had already reviewed my cat’s chart from his previous vet and his hospital records. Was nice that she knew his history and I didn’t have to answer a million questions.
After his examination and tests that needed to be done; Dr Luther was wonderful explaining results and exam. My cat has heart problems and I feel like I have found a great Veterinarian to help me with his care.

Dr. Luther and Dr. Fitzgerald saved my "shorkie's" life. My dog was pregnant and ended up losing her pups to an infection called Pyometra. After she gave birth to a still-born, I made an appt. w/Dr. Luther to have her checked. The receptionists at SAM are also very caring and immediately got us in to see the doctor. Once diagnosed, the team at SAM acted immediately and my dog underwent same-day surgery to have her uterus removed. The surgery was performed by Dr. Fitzgerald and it was a success. My pup is slowly recovering and follow-up visits have are in place. Thank you SAM team for your care and dedication.

They are truly there for our pets!
I never write reviews but I had such a great experience with this vet. My cat Melvin was showing signs of a UTI and they were able to get me in the same day even tho I was not yet a patient. They took great care of him and the Dr took her time when speaking with me about my concerns, I really felt listened to. I have two cats and I definitely will be bringing them here from now on!

After dealing with vets who only spend 5 mins with you and just want to write a prescription, it was such a breath of fresh air to have someone who genuinely takes the time to talk to you and cares for you pet in a more holistic manner! I loved my experience here and felt very cared for and welcomed by all staff. So happy to have found a great place to confidently take my dogs. Thank you!!

Our sweet girl Sookie was 4yo when I noticed a lump on her front right leg -too young to have a hard lump grow so fast I thought -took her to see Dr Luther - surgery was suggested - devastating diagnosis when pathology showed angiosarcoma - Dr Luther advised this is a nasty cancer and life expectancy was only 3-6 months after diagnosis even with chemo or amputation - but she had success in the past with a local injectable plant chemo agent - neoplastine / removed as much as the tumor as possible first - I also took her to a specialist at UF vet school as my daughter studied there - he advised same> 3-6months was the average life expectancy for this cancer no matter the treatment / decided Dr Luther had best options for quality of life for however long this sweet girl had left / did not want systemic chemo / no amputation / Dr Luther gave 2 injections of neoplastine / Prescribed a Chinese herb/ immuno support / turkey tail mushrooms to be given for the rest of her life- this girl has lived the best dog life! Swims and runs after balls and plays like a puppy although much slower now because she will be 12 next month!!! I can’t thank Dr Luther enough for saving my sweet Sookie! Holistic medicine is truly the best option!
Update on our sweet Sookie - Dec 2024 - she turned 13 yo in Sept! Now on librela for her arthritis but still going strong - went to the lake this summer to swim and chase sticks into the water! Our miracle girl still with us thanks to Dr Luther!

Holistic and caring. The vets and techs seem to love the dogs and want them well cared for. Unlike most clinics, they are not out to sell you everything you will buy. They seem to only sell you what your pet really needs. So basically trustworthy, which is rare these days.

Sarasota Animal Medical Center is simply the best clinic I have found for my fur babies! I recently met Dr. Sarena for the care of Lil Woo, my diabetic cat and she is a wonderful doctor and person! She's very knowledgeable, kind, and provided me with valuable information to help with his care. Much thanks to the entire staff of compassionate people!
