No volveremos, iré a otro veterinario. El servicio al público es terrible también, la única que realmente nos trató amablemente fue la enfermera.

They took great care of my puppy! He had pneumonia and was out of there within the week! Great service! All the nurses were so nice to us and let me stay as long as I wanted to when I went to visit!

Love this place! The doctors and staff are amazing! So professional, and trustworthy with your pets healthcare needs. I have been coming here on and off for years, surgery, prescription food, and so much more. Thank you for taking such great care of my fur baby! Both when she was a puppy and now as a senior. They provide quality Care in a beautiful office! Go check them out! The same staff has been there for years and that says a lot ❤️

This was my first time at Sarasota Veterinary. The entire staff from the reception staff, to the vet techs, to the veterinarian, everyone was so kind, patient and accommodating. I really appreciated the clean and efficient office environment. Everyone who works there is such a beautiful human being who really cares for not only the animals, but the community too. And let’s face it, veterinarians are adept and helping diagnose physical issues for animals but they are also very good therapists offering support and creating a caring space for the human owners of the pets as well. Big Red the cat and I are eternally grateful for all the assistance we received from Sarasota Veterinary Center. ?

Last May, I brought my fully vaccinated dog to them for boarding. They re-vaccinated her WITHOUT my permission. I told them that because she just got fully vaccinated 6 months before bringing her, they overvaccinated my poor dog. Instead of being concerned about the harm they caused, they tried to make me feel like I didn't know what I was talking about. My dog vomited and pooped blood all day the next day. I was terrified she wasn't going to make it. I called today (less than 4 months later) to see if they would board her. They wanted to re-vaccinate her AGAIN!!!! This place is OBVIOUSLY more concerned with how much money they can squeeze from people than the welfare of animals. THIS IS ON THE LINES OF ANIMAL ABUSE.

It has taken me almost a month to be able to write this. Our experience with Sarasota Veterinary Center, hereinafter SVC, was horrific.
We purchased a cockapoo puppy from Florida Fur Babies in Punta Gorda who, we have since found out, is another puppy dealer in the area selling puppies from High Volume Dog Breeders and others located in an infamous area of Ohio (they’ll be getting their review shortly). Our warranty from them stipulated that we utilize SVC since we lived in the area.
When we picked up the puppy on Saturday, May 27th we were given a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection signed on May 26th by Dr. Fifarek stating that the puppy was healthy; however, from the time we brought him home through Tuesday, May 30th he had very little interest in his food, had very soft stool, and was constantly scratching at both ears. Tuesday night he vomited and had diarrhea.
Wednesday, May 31st at 9 am we took him to his previously scheduled appointment with SVC. We brought in a stool sample. We were seen by Dr. Kristie Johns. She said the puppy had a double ear infection and gastro irritation. She gave him 3 injections, packed his ears, and gave us metronidazole. No test for Parvo was run at that time, despite his age and symptoms. He slept most of that day and night.
Thursday, June 1st, puppy was still not interested in food and continued to have diarrhea. I called SVC and was told Dr. Fifarek wanted to see him at 11. We brought him in. They took him in the back. Dr. Fifarek came in and announced our puppy had Parvo and required hospitalization. We were stunned, very worried, and agreed to leave him in their care. A couple of hours later he called and said our precious puppy was DEAD. He said he had a couple of seizures. We were horrified, devastated, and heartbroken. We never got to say goodbye. He died without us.
1. Why wasn’t the puppy tested for Parvo the day before?
2. Why did the Certificate signed the day before we acquired him state he was healthy when, in fact, he exhibited the symptoms from the time we picked him up the next morning at 10 am? Did all of the symptoms just spontaneously develop overnight
On Tuesday, June 6th, we picked up our puppy’s remains and posed those exact questions to both vets. The answer to question 1 was “He didn’t act like a Parvo puppy” and question 2 was met with a blank stare. Then Dr. Fifarek had the unmitigated gall to ask us why we were so angry.
We have been forever traumatized by this disgusting course of events. Do yourselves a favor and utilize another veterinary practice. There are plenty to choose from in Sarasota.
