Took our 11 week old Dogo Argentino to them for an ear crop at the end of Jan. 2024. They did a medium/high crop! Turned out really good. She’s definitely growing into them! Not only did they perform the procedure but they boarded her for about 11 nights to accommodate the cleanings and wrappings necessary for proper healing time. Would recommend them to anyone for this type of surgery. Thanks again!

I am writing to provide a detailed account of the incident that occurred at Sawtooth Veterinary Hospital regarding my French Bulldog, Blue. I found the hospital online and called to confirm if they performed C-sections for French Bulldogs. They confirmed they could, so I scheduled an appointment for October 15th to have Blue's progesterone levels tested. Upon arrival, they conducted the test and confirmed she was ready for surgery. I signed the necessary consent paperwork, and they proceeded with the C-section. She ended up having 5 puppies that were all healthy.

After the procedure when they let us back, I noticed the hospital was quite unprofessional. There were children playing in the surgery room near my dog, who was bleeding on the floor. The surgery room was absolutely disgusting. The C-section was completed in about half an hour, and we were sent home with a receipt and instructions to give Blue her antibiotics and pain medications. We were not given any after care instructions or warnings. Over the next five days, Blue exhibited strange behavior, such as nesting. She was also leaking green/brown fluid and small placenta pieces vaginally. I assumed this discharge was normal since we were not given any specific aftercare instructions, apart from being told to return to have her staples removed in 10-14 days.

On the morning of the fifth day, I noticed more discharge and, upon wiping it, discovered what appeared to be a paw. They left a puppy inside of my dog. Alarmed, I had my boyfriend call the hospital. They confirmed they could remove the remaining puppy but required persuasion to stay open long enough to perform the procedure. We were extremely upset by this negligence. We rushed to the hospital and were taken back to the surgical room where they proceeded to take an x-ray. I can attach a copy of that. They told us and I quote “mistakes happen were not perfect”. They then said that they would have to open my dog back up. I suggested instead of doing that, that they give her Oxytocin to force her into labor. They proceeded to give her the shot. Then they asked us to leave. They said they would try to remove the puppy by pulling it out. If that did not work they said that they would have to re-open her incision.

My boyfriend and I left to the gas station right next to the Hospital. Then about 10 minutes later they called my phone to say they removed the puppy vaginally. We went back to the hospital and asked to see the puppy because we assumed it had died. They pulled it out of the trash. They did not ask us what we wanted to do with it. I was able to take a picture of the puppy. Blue is worth over 10,000 and the complete disregard for her life and safety is ridiculous.

Five stars all day. Our cat has been in there for 10 days with digestive mega colon issues. Dr. Lee and the staff have helped fix our cat after being to vets all over the country.
They are a busy place and after going there for about a year know why now, its the place for true care and ethics. Dr. Lee, thank you again for helping us, we've been trying to figure out our little guy since 2020. Proud to call them our vet, they are like family to us, because they helped save a family member.
