We cannot say enough good things about this veterinary hospital. Unfortunately, we are here quite often for one of our high maintenance dogs! Every time, we are greeted by friendly technicians who are so patient with his very high energy. I think it speaks volumes that our dog absolutely LOVES going to the vet to see all of his friends.

All of the doctors are so patient, professional and knowledgeable. They provide both of our dogs with the best care. We have the utmost trust in their recommendations. They have referred us to specialists at other hospitals on occasion and have continued to follow the care of our dogs. They do not just hand off their care to someone new.

I think one of the best things about this hospital is that the doctors are always available. Anytime I call with a question or email, I always am able to connect with a doctor within minutes with the answer. This is rare to come by so I've found out!

All of the doctors and technicians here are truly amazing. We are so lucky to have them. We will never take our pets elsewhere! Thank you for being the best of the best!

Called to get my 5 yr old Dog neutered and explained that I had a voucher. The secretary explained that the owner was not there and that she would call back when she got back. She did respond to tell me that the owner told her they do not take any vouchers. Well that was very rude especially when the voucher has their name and address and number on the back to contact. I would not want to take my dog there anyways.

SVH takes wonderful care of us! I have been taking my almost 11 year old pup here since she was 11 weeks old & we have never had a negative experience. The whole staff is really friendly, too! Highly recommend!

Highly recommend Saybrook Vet! My cat is very high energy and high anxiety but the doctor and staff are very accommodating and always make it a smooth visit for us! Dr. Merkent is amazing, I won't take my animals anywhere else!!

I've waited since April to write this review because I was so appalled and shocked that my dog and I were treated the way we were by a business with such stellar history and reviews. I tend not to write reviews and especially not negative ones. But this was about my dog, and I feel as if I would be remiss if I did not warn other animal lovers and owners.
My dog was scared and didn't want to enter his first appointment at Saybrook Veterinary Hospital. I figure that they are used to this and they will help me in getting him inside or even attempt an alternative entrance or appointment of some type. Instead, I was given pamplets on training and CBD and told to reschedule. When I said that I had taken the time off of work and that my dog is a livestock guardian dog who will not respond to traditional training, I was met with very shameful language and looks from the entire staff (wasn't allowed to meet the doctor.) When I said I just wanted my records, they added to them "Owner not receptive to CBD or training." I would do anything for my dog and this was an incredibly shameful and disapointing experience. I will never return here or allow them to care for my sweet boy. Back to driving 35 minutes to Colchester Vet--but I have NEVER been shamed, made to feel like a bad dog owner or belittled by a staff that just didn't want to seem to put any effort in--shame on you all for treating a beautiful rescue dog and his owner this way!

Went here for the first time in 25+ years. I was extremely impressed with the staff and Dr. The doctor took all the time she needed with us and didn't force anything or any services upon us. She recommended certain things, but was definitely not forcing myself to get them at the moment. Overall it was a very great visit, and I will definitely go back!

Absolutely my worse experience.How can you even call yourself a vet if you can’t even handle a cat They our a joke.I have spent 1,000s here and shes still pissing in the house.They know ZERO!!!!!GO ANYWHERE ELSE you where warned
