This vet has so much compassion and great bedside manners. They have always given plenty of time when I have visited and I never feel rushed no matter how busy they are. Jeff has done so much for our animals, we are happy to have him.

I found a stray cat. It was matted down, meowing at me and looked like he needed help. I am allergic to cats and have two dogs at home. I have to find him a home.
I brought this cat in to the vet and told the workers what l just wrote. I explained l am working, but willing to pay upto 200 dollars to help the cat... No more.
The nurse brought us in a room and asked what l wanted done. I told her just make sure is not dying and shave him down. She then added a rabies shot on her own. I did not argue.
She then asked for a 200 dollar deposit.
I explained l did not have two hundred dollars ready. She said bring the cat back when l have it. I offered her one hundred dollars and the rest tomorrow.
I then asked what time they close on Saturday? She said noon. I said " well the cat should be done tomorrow or l guess I'll get him Monday.
I walked 5ft to the front desk and waited for them to take my payment. We even tried to figure out where the cat was from.
I paid and left. 15 minutes later l got a phone call from them informing me the cost would be 210 dollars . They went on to say they wouldn't discount 10.00 dollars and l needed to pick up the cat by 5pm. Then they wanted to add a charge for keeping the cat overnight.
Well, they should of let me know everything before l left and not dragged me down the financial rabbit hole because l took pity on an animal. I believe she saw a sucker and played me accordingly.
When l confronted the woman "Chris" about it she made several lame excuses for not communicating with me the time frame.
1) l left the examination room to fast. After talking.
2) then she said " she was too busy to follow behind me 5 ft to the front desk and let me know.
Then she kept changing the point of the argument and talking over me. The argument was soo bad l hung up on her but had to call her back because she threatened to euthanize the cat as l was hanging up.
Then when l asked to speak to the owner, the owner wasn't there on a Friday.
They have a hundred dollars of my money. They have the cat. I will update the situation.

Absolutely Awesome! Will definitely recommend and we will be returning. Treated with respect and dignity. My dog is lab-pit mix and they didn't even put a muzzle on her (last place wanted me to give her a 'cocktail' before they would see her. And they did the full exam with me standing right beside her. Couldn't be happier with the price either!
My review of Scott City Animal is still 5+ stats, and it's been months now!!

I have taken all of my dogs here for the past 20 years. Everyone who works here, especially the doctor, has always been the most personable, caring and compassionate people. I recently had an emergency with one of my dogs and they stayed late and didn’t charge me for the visit, while providing my dog with the most amazing care. They sent us home comforted with a happy dog. Just want to say thank you to everyone who works there! I will always recommend you to everyone I know.

I've been taking my dogs to this place for 20 years. When I first started taking my first dog , she was awesome. Then we started seeing Katie Dannar. Everything was good. Then we started seeing Jeff. My blue heeler , Susie, made it almost 16 years. She had a fatty tumor in her arm. He said it was not a problem. 2 months later it spread to her lungs and I decided it was so bad, her lungs and her hacking. So I decided to have her put down. Paid extra for him to give her pain killers before he missed her vein twice. When he finally got it she had spent 2 minutes trying to look at me. Fast forward to now. I have Jadey Bug, half lab/chow. She has cataracts, her ears are driving her nuts. Last visit I decided not to go back to them again. He didn't do anything about her eyes or her ears, right after he stuck a q-tip in her ear and it was all bloody. A good 250 bucks for him to give her the yearly shots. 3 weeks later she got hit by a car. He wouldn't even take a look at her unless I paid 500 bucks up front. Shows you how much he cares. I take her to SkyView now, they are much better. I wouldn't take a pet hamster to him.

We had to take my dog to get his dew claw cut off because he had ripped it on the ice when running. The staff was super helpful and nice. They took great care of my boy and we will continue using them in the future for all of our animals.

They got our dog right in. Even though there was nothing they could do for him after opening him up they found a huge tumor and he was eaten up with cancer they tried to save him for us. We are grateful that they got right on it and did the best any vet could.

I was a little late for my appointment but they were very nice and cordial. I have a new puppy so they did an overall exam and shots for what I thought was a reasonable price. Very satisfied. Thank you
