The staff here saved our dog's life. Our dog Ricky was very sick after he ingested several clothing items and had a small bowel obstruction. The entire staff was very caring, and they professionally provided us with several options at each juncture.
We were kept informed throughout his treatment. We gave informed consent for a surgery and the vet did a fantastic job retrieving the fabric from a difficult place in the small bowel. Our dog healed wonderfully. Furthermore, pricing was extremely reasonable when we compared with other emergency veterinary services in the area. Places in Raleigh would've charged 2-3x as much. This is the go to place for true veterinary emergencies.

Took my Ozzy B here after being attacked by other dogs or coyotes. He had some deep, gnarly wounds and the Vet did a great job! Our experience here was great! We were shown the cost of treatment beforehand so there were no surprises. Returned a week later to have drainage tubes removed and we were treated with the same care as the first emergency visit. Our fur baby is healing and we are so thankful for their emergency services!

The staff was so kind and informative. They took great care of my dog and she was severely injured. They made me feel confident that they would do everything in their power to save her and they did. They also accept care credit which is a lifesaver in an emergency situation as it can get quite expensive. Even so they tried their best to make it as cheap as possible for us. I would gladly bring my pets here again if needed.

They saved my baby. She had a softball sized tumor (that we didn’t know about) rupture on her spleen and they did emergency surgery. It was expensive but they gave a military discount and the doctors were very compassionate. She’s now at our regular vet receiving continuing treatment.

I quite frankly hope this vet office gets shut down and sued for everything it’s worth. I have had multiple horrifying experiences at this vet office where my animals were sent home with poor care. For example I brought my cat in with multiple nails fully ripped off, all these incompetent people did was “clean” it and sent us home after 6 hrs waiting. We ended up having to come back bc the wound was so badly infected, to which they magically lost the record form a couple days ago of us just being there, another vet told us our cat could have died from it. It felt like we had to teach these people what to do to help our animal instead of feeling confident they would know how to do there job. Another time they proceeded to send our cat home who could have potentially be internally bleeding from her surgery bc the vet “may have” missed something. I hope miss Dr. Souza knows how poor her care is. She has worked with us here and another place and every single times has dismissed us and our concerns, not to mention comes into my partners work and complains about her job. I never would have gone to this place so many times if it literally was not the only option available. If you no longer enjoy ur job, do everyone and there beloved animals a favor and quit. You’re not helping anyone or there pets in the way you should be.

The staff here were great, kind, and compassionate. We were seen in a timely manner as far as triage for an ER Vet goes, and saw Dr. whitehead. I am still a LITTLE bit emotionally charged from this because of what ended up happening. We brought our 8 year old husky in for labored breathing, blood coming from the nose, and lethargy. After doing bloodwork, and a urine sample, the vet took us aside and said his white blood cell count was VERY high, and that it’s an indication his body is fighting infection, she said they could do X-rays, but she was pretty sure that was the issue. Ok, great! Antibiotics and i didn’t get additional testing pushed on me! I planned on following up with our primary vet today as he was declining on a sunday. After reviewing the copies of paperwork when i got home, i noticed he was sent home with a 104.2 fever. Ok weird, but maybe it’s not a big deal, i’m not a vet. Following up with my primary vet today, the vet (Dr. Barkman at Highland animal hospital) Informed me he was severely anemic and did in fact have a urinary tract infection for sure (which i specifically asked Dr. Whitehead about since he was peeing OFTEN and inside, she said DEFINITELY NOT). Before doing ANY testing of his own, just a physical exam and reading what Dr. Whitehead did as far as CBC goes, he told me, he is losing blood, it is not on the floor, so it is internal. He is internally bleeding. He does NOT have an infection with the anemia also. We confirmed all of these things with X-Ray, he has a giant mass on his spleen that ruptured, and caused him to internally bleed. The CBC he re ran was identical to the levels that he had the day before, so this is something that they missed. I do not want this to happen to another family. I know mistakes happen and people can misread things, but I had brand new vet techs reading his labs telling me he’s internally bleeding. We did end up putting him to sleep today. The surgery prognosis was not good and not worth our risk to put him through anymore suffering. I did call today and explain this to someone over the phone and they were super nice and understanding, i know as a ER vet they must get emotionally charged angry customers all the time and I don’t want to be that. I am upset that I paid emergency vet prices for less than emergent care. The outcome would not have been different had she caught it, but if this was someone else’s pet with anything similar that could have somehow be saved, I wouldn’t want the EMERGENCY veterinarian to be missing an emergency. I am not after money here, although i do feel robbed given i paid 609 dollars to be told my dog has an infection and be sent home with antibiotics to be MISDIAGNOSED. I am waiting on a call from the manager of this practice, I don’t know what will come of that but I will update my review when that happens. We lost our Rox today, and we are very sad about that, but we don’t want this to happen to anyone else. EDIT: I did hear from practice manager Alan, I do feel gaslit, taken advantage of, and disappointed. He declined a refund, which sucks but isn’t my main issue. My main issue is the lack of accountability. My mother had been a practice manager of a human med practice for years now and she would never act this way for the sake of the business. Luckily they’re not at a lack of clients because they are emergency, so one bad review won’t hurt them. If your pet is actively dying and you can see it, go ahead and bring them here. But if you’re not sure, go to points east, wait the 9 hours, or NC State.

I brought my cat back in October. He was having labored breathing and not acting normal. I called to let them know I would be coming in and it takes about 45 minutes. My cat was seen within 10-15 minutes of us arriving. Unfortunately, my cat ultimately had to be euthanized due to complications progressing, but the staff and Dr. Turner were amazing to my family and me. I am forever grateful for them and the care they provided, not just for my pet but for my family.
