This was my puppy’s first exam after switching over from another vet. The office is bright and clean and the staffs are so friendly. I do have a membership but given my puppy needs the rest of her vaccines and extra exams, I decided to purchase the wellness plan bundle which I think is worth the price. I love the access to 24/7 telehealth as well and have been very useful when I accidentally thought my puppy swallowed a squeaky toy. They are also transparent with their pricing which is very helpful. Only recommendation I have for this office is to sweep or clean the exam room floors as there were a lot of dog hair from a previous visit.

Small Door has been my veterinarian for four years. I am again renewing our membership, because at every visit with my little dog, whether he just needed a checkup or had a problem, I felt the friendly staff made him feel at ease and took expertly care of his health needs. The phone support between visits is an added bonus.

Everyone there was so sweet and patient. I wish my doctors were like this! My dog had his first vet visit here and the team knew exactly what to do to warm him up. The checkup was thorough and everything was done with transparency and clarity.

Small Door West Village is the gold star when it comes to consistently maintaining a superb and exceptional standard of care for beloved pets and their owners. My adopted senior cat and I were patients of this location for over two years after being referred by my brother and his cat. During that time, I experienced extremely efficient interactions, via the app and in person. Over the years with Small Door WV, my cat and I went through a benign tumor biopsy, one bout of respiratory congestion, and annual wellness visits. I was repeatedly pleased by the staff's bedside manner in all visits, akin to *good* human treatment. At her last visit, which was an emergency triage due to concerning behavior across a shockingly short period of 36 hours, Selah was diagnosed with acute heart failure and I was given a devastating prognosis. This diagnosis was not able to be caught with standard testing or wellness exams, and was a total shock. Dr. Jyothi Alagappan urged me to bring her in immediately after seeing a video sent via the Chat function of the Small Door app, and helped me understand the prognosis in a clear, calm, and empathetic manner. Dr. Savannah-Grace Rogers, who had seen Selah previously, took the time to speak with me as well. The level of empathy and kindness shown to me and Selah in our last moments together is something I will always remember. Thank you, to the whole team.

We have been taking our dog to Small Door since he was an 8 week old puppy (he is now 2 years old!). We have been extremely happy with the care and love he receives from the entire staff! He actually gets excited to go to the vet, and as his pawrents we love the easy app to book appointments or to chat with the medical team for non-emergency medical questions real-time. Highly recommend Small Door to anyone looking for exceptional veterinary care!

I adopted a chihuahua puppy almost 2 weeks ago, and my spouse had taken our older dog there previously and had a good experience. I bought the annual membership for his visit and was able to schedule an appointment for a time after work. The West Village location is amazing, it’s close to home for us and while my puppy was afraid during his first appointment; everyone was so kind and easy with him. Coaxing him with treats and keeping him calm, also allowing us to be in the room with him during everything. They gave him a thorough examination, explained what vaccines he would need for now and the future, and helped find a small ear infection he was battling. The staff cleaned his ears and prescribed him some ear drops. He’s set for a follow up in two weeks and I signed up for the Wellness plus plan for puppies since it covers all his vaccines and treatments he’ll need since he’s only a few months old. Thanks to the help of the staff sending me insurance information, I was also able to apply for pet insurance and messaged them right away to add in my policy for his visits. They were extremely helpful and patient and transparent on pricing as well. We got home and my pup was running around the house again like normal. All in all, I’m pleased with Small Door and the care we’ve received.

It was a meaningless physical examination.
Named Dr. Eliza O Callaghan of this hospital
She had no patience. Because my dog was very afraid of injections, she completely ignored the dog's nervousness and took the dog away for examination without any comfort. This physical examination mainly checked the dog's joint problems and teeth. After I asked her at least four times whether my dog's joints were healthy, she insisted on telling me that my dog's legs were fine. But when I got home, I received a physical examination report showing patellar dislocation. Is this what you mean by no problem? Why didn't she tell me at all when I asked her repeatedly? If I knew, I would know to take protective measures after returning home and pay more attention to his leg problems. I don't know how many parents will encounter such an irresponsible doctor. Kittens and puppies can't talk, so they need the doctor's care and patience. Isn't this the meaning of taking them for physical examinations? I won't comment on other doctors in this hospital, but this is an extremely bad experience. I don't know if this doctor is so perfunctory only to Asians or to everyone. Please avoid making an appointment with this doctor for the health of your furry children.

Have had a wonderful experience taking our pup to small door. The puppy bundle has made it incredible convenient with all the check ups in the first year, the service has been excellent, and having nurses responding through the app whenever I need quick virtual advice has also been key. Definitely recommend to new puppy parents!
