Dr Alli and her staff are wonderful! The environment is welcoming and very comfortable. They were able to see my fur-baby in a timely manner, after having to wait too long, on too many occasions for an appointment at my prior vet. She took time with us, answering questions that needed attention and was excellent with my Chippy! I can’t recommend Dr Alli enough! The whole experience was amazing! ❤️ Thank you all so much!

I cannot recommend Dr. Ali and her staff enough. Her techs are very sweet and they've cleaned the floor from my boy's accidents many times with grace & class. When my boy struggled with walk on their floors with his condition I've had blankets brought to me for him to walk on.
The ability to send them a text and have it answered within an hour or two is amazing. I've sent questions, concerns and even more questions and they still manage to get back to me very quickly. Love their internet generated receipts.
Their check in area is big and wide allowing us pet owners respectable space so we don't stress out the furry family members. No one around can beat their prices, like seriously they are exceptionally reasonable, or basically their open availability for appointments!
The only way this place would be better is if they had their appointment notes also internet generated like the receipts but that would literally just be icing on the cake. Go here. They're amazing.

They blacklist and refuse to treat foster dogs from well known reputable rescue groups based on the feelings of a former employee, who has personal issues with the rescues. Which is unfortunate as its the animals that are ultimately affected. They also lie about the interactions with their clients in order to justify their actions.

I have a 14yo dog needing to see a vet for a dental abcess and was just told by South Main Vet that they have an urgent care appointment available tomorrow, at a premium price, but I can't book it now, I have to call at 8:30 tomorrow morning and see if it's still available. Does that make sense to any one? They have a crirical patient that has been with them since they opened, he's old and in a lot of pain, and not only will they not see him today, I have to win the lottery for him to possibly be seen by them tomorrow. They can't just book the appointment and give me peace of mind that my poor dog will be cared for soon? What happened to vets who care? You won't find them here. Last week I called to make a regular appointment for a puppy to receive her puppy shots and microchip. The first appointment they had was 3 weeks out. Seriously? A vet tech can't take 5 minutes to give a shot? I just did it myself. Horrible.

UPDATE- THE REPLY BELOW IS A COMPLETE LIE. SOUTH MAIN VET NEVER CALLED ME TO OFFER AN APPOINTMENT. I sent a text at 8:24am requesting an urgent care appointment. They responded by text at 8:38 offering a 10:30 appointment. I did not see the text as I was attending to this dog. At 8:50, 12 minutes (not hours) later, they sent another text that the appointment was no longer available. I called to confirm at 9:27 and had to leave a voicemail. I called back at 9:40 and again at 9:41 as I would need to leave by then to get to the 10:30 appointment. I was then told the appointment was no longer available but they had one the following day. However, I couldn't have it now. I would have to "call back at 8:30 tomorrow, and that 1 same day appointment was usually gone by 8:35". The explanation below is a complete lie. You can tell by the time line that they are lying. Beware.

South Main got us in with our ailing beloved dog within a few hours of our call using one of their same day urgent care appointments. They let us bring him through the back because he was always scared of other dogs. They were kind and supportive in our decision to euthanize since Bruce was older and had had a life-altering stroke. They took care of everything and the bill was not outrageous. They followed up with a compassionate card and prints of his paw. We would recommend their services to others.

Dr. Alli is a very compassionate Veterinarian. Our little Melee was in her care for a couple of years and she was always so amazing with him and us. Upon our unfortunate experience of losing Melee on 4-1-2024, Dr Alli and her staff showed tremendous kindness and compassion during a very heart breaking loss, even though he was at a different hospital during his passing. I just opened up the mail and received a very warm sympathy card. Thank you Dr Alli for taking the time to write such kind words. I know you meant them. Although I have no intentions of welcoming anymore fur babies into my home at this time, I highly recommend you take your loved ones to see her for their care.

This is the 1st vet my dog did not try to bite or pee on when she was being looked at. Everyone there was very nice. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a great vet for their animals.

I’m SOOOOOOO THANKFUL for Dr. Alli and for THIS Vet Hospital!! My first experience was getting Emily on the phone who went above and beyond a receptionist. She listened to my concerns whole heartedly and called me back when she said she was going too. If you live in this area you KNOW, how hard it is to get into a Vet right now. They got us in and the best part of this experience was, Dr. Alli found the root cause of his issues and treated him. I would RECOMMENDED South Main Vet Hospital to EVERYONE! I will be moving out of this area, but I will make the long drive to come back HERE!! I believe it takes a WHOLE staff to make a practice SUCCESSFUL! South Main has all of it! Emily was the BEST receptionist, Sarah was a wonderful technician who gave us clear care after my dogs procedure and of course Dr. Alli knows what she talking about and really cares about her patients and their owners!! I will be FOREVER grateful for South Main VT!!!!!
