I have to change my review of this place . On Monday 11/11/2024 I took my sweet Rusty in for an emergency visit . They kept him all day and when I picked him up Dr. Marty Mathis told me he was improving . Sent him home with meds . When they brought Rusty to me immediately I could tell he wasn’t improving he was worse . This was at 5:30pm by 11:30pm my Rusty was gone !!!! And on top of it all I had a $700.00 dollar vet bill to pay . All for this man to look me in the eye and completely lie to me . He should have at least had the decency to tell me it wasn’t looking good for Rusty . Anything would have been better than the lie he told . He should have tried to prepare me for what was coming . I mean for Christ sake he is supposed to be trained to know these things !! Then when I call the next morning to tell them Rusty had passed away the receptionist told me Dr. Mathis would call me later that afternoon . But I never heard a word from him . So I see he is not a man of his word and is not a good veterinarian !! Please take your pets somewhere else if you love them . My heart is completely broken .

Yesterday, I had a family member who was helping me with financial assistance to obtain the care for my pet in a medical emergency. I did not have the money to pay over $1000 to have Dr. Martys medical staff administer fluids needed so I opted to administer the fluids myself. When my family member, the one being financially responsible, was very politely speaking to him about administering the fluids he would not let her finish her sentence before saying “ma-am are you going to let me talk” along with “ stop let me talk.” He was very disrespectful to her. He charged $580 to administer 2 injections one for vomitting and one was an antibody. $150 of that was for the visit and diagnosis test. The dog at the time was unable to lift her head, walk, or make any natural movements other than compulsive kicks from being in shock. He carried an attitude during the entire visit and pushed to get payment immediately. I paid the $580 and before the dog was out of the parking lot she passed away. NOT even out of THE PARKING LOT. As an experienced medical Dr, I have no other option than to believe he knew my dog had only minutes left of life. We paid $580 because of the love I had for my dog and the will to do anything to help her live. Dr. Marty will not refund any untouched/unopened medical supplies etc. I feel to believe he took advantage of someone who cared for their pet to receive medical attention to pass within 5 minutes of his care. As a medical Dr. you should know when a patient is within FIVE minutes of death. If you can not see that a dog is passing after being in practice this many years it is a shame. To have such an ugly attitude and the means to take more money than the cost of seeing her and running diagnostics test is unbelievable.

My sister has received remarkable care with her animals from Dr Matthews and it is a shame his office was full and we felt there to be no remaining options here in moultrie. Dr Marty has never been hers or my veterinarian of choice and will never stand a chance of my business or recommendations.

If you would like someone who actually cares about the clients as well as their animals please do yourself a favor and use Dr Matthew’s for all of your vet needs. It is unfortunate for us that he was booked up today but I am sure it is because of his outstanding concern for his patients and their caretakers.

Excellent care! Called 8 am told me quick time to come in. Checked my dog out thoroughly. My dad used to take my dog 30 years ago. Nice to see son is carrying on great care like my dad saw with his father.
