How it started.. and how its going! Last 4th of July our Bandit was run over by a truck, we rushed him to the Emergency Vet Hospital of Coeur d'Alene and found out he had broke his leg and ribs. It was a week or so long battle but our boy is strong and the vets and vet techs at EVH cda were absolutely amazing. We owe them everything for saving our guy! We worked with them and our primary vet-Rathdrum animal clinic to have constant round the clock care for him. All of the staff at Rathdrum animal clinic were amazing as always! We love them. After Bandit was stable enough they referred us to the VCA Kootenai animal hospital to see Dr. Rogers to hopefully save his leg. Dr. Rogers was optimistic but also realistic with us, there is no certainty the metal plate would hold up in his splintered leg and there could also be irreversible nerve damage. We could try the surgery to put the plate in or we could amputate. We opted to try to save the leg. The surgery went perfect and Dr. Rogers and all of his staff were so incredibly compassionate and helpful. They treated us like family. And a huge shout out to Donna and Marisa and the rest of the girls upfront. They were rockstars and always did everything they could to accommodate and get us in super fast when time wasn't on our side. Dr. Rogers said that if Bandit is not using his leg within 4 weeks of the surgery he was going to be concerned. We brought him in for 4 week post op check and he was still not using his leg at all. So Dr. Rogers recommended we go to Springwater Vet Services to start physical therapy with Dr. Porter. We started with Springwater in August and flash forward to now and Bandit has full mobility of his leg. We owe it all to Springwater. Dr. Porter is a miracle worker. We worked very closely with Lisa and Missy. Lisa never hesitated to throw on the waders and hop in the tank with bandit to manipulate his leg when he would not move it himself! And Missy was just a bright and positive light. She is was so comforting and uplifting especially when she could tell I was getting discouraged. Alexis the front office girl is also amazing and so sweet!! With the mix of Dr. Porter’s laser treatment, miles and miles in the hydro tank and many hours in the exercise room our boy has full control of his leg again. We could not be more grateful for all of these offices and i recommend them to everyone I know!! Physical therapy works!!!! We love these guys so much!

I took my dog in for her first appointment today, and I can't say enough good things about Springwater Veterinary Services. From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly welcoming and made both my dog and me feel at ease. Dr. Porter was outstanding—she genuinely listened to all my concerns, patiently answered my many questions, and handled my energetic, squirmy girl with care. It's clear that everyone at Springwater is passionate about what they do, and I’m so glad we chose them for our rehab needs. Highly recommend!

Been bringing my Labrador here since 2021 to originally treat a knee injury that healed without surgery thanks to Dr Porter and her team rehabbing him so excellently. I've continued with maintenance visits every 4-6 wks since then as the chiropractic, layering, aquatic treadmill and physical therapy exercises keep our pup strong and sound. Terrific team of caring humans who treat your pet and you as important and appreciated.

Dr. Porter and staff are fabulous and well respected in the community. They are helping my main chore and competition dog get right after an injury in March 2023. Right on track to return to work in June.

Dr. Porter has actually worked with quite a few of our dogs over the past few years. Working Border Collies can be hard on themselves.

This week, I took my German Shepherd, Gus, to see Dr. Porter for the first time. Gus has had back pain for 3 years after an injury playing ball. We have treated him with medications and chiropractics during flare ups, but we didn't know of any treatment to actually fix him, just bandaids to help when it flares up after playing too hard. Dr. Porter was able to diagnose Gus within a few minutes of hearing the mechanism of injury and reviewing his xrays taken by his primary veterinarian. While assessing his back to confirm his diagnosis, she performed a chiro adjustment. I didn't even realize she was doing it, because Gus had zero reaction to it! Which is amazing. Their environment is fantastic and it really benefitted both mine and Gus' experience. In true German Shepherd fashion, he is a big scaredy-cat at the vet's office. It was so amazing to see him relaxed during his appointment. After his adjustment, we went to the hydro tub. This was a new experience for him and the Tech was great with him. His appointment ended with some physical therapy and Dr. Porter teaching me about Gus' diagnosis, explaining his treatment recommendations, answering my questions and helping me configure a treatment schedule that worked for my schedule and budget. All of the staff is very competent and knowledgeable, and have a great understanding of dog behavior and handling.

Gus is an extremely special dog to me and my family. Not only is he an incredible family dog, he also serves as my medical and psychiatric alert service dog. Keeping him healthy is a top priority, as well as providing him a safe, stress-free environment for his treatment.

Our whole family is so thankful for Dr. Porter, her staff, and what she has created at Springwater. I look forward to bringing Gus in for treatments to get his back fixed up, so he can chase all the balls his heart desires!

Pictured is Gus with me at the hospital while I was getting an infusion. He alerted to my medical condition before the monitor did, and then provided deep pressure therapy (one of his trained tasks) until the episode was over. I told you he's no just an ordinary family dog ? he is the goodest of good boys.

Daisy had a slipped disc and is walking and playing again. 100% recommend this place. From the doctor to the staff everyone is very friendly and helpful.
