My first experience with this company was for the purchase of tires on my old 2001 Subaru Outback. They had a set that had been barely used by a person who changed their mind and bought a different brand. Standard sold them to me at their price! A few days later, I received a thank you card!
Next, I took my car in for CV joint replacement. Not only did they do that job, without me asking they glued my door seal and adjusted my clutch (at no charge! I had been asking my last mechanic people to adjust my clutch for a couple years).
And yep, another thank you card!

I came in with a flat and was offered a couple of options. Since my tires were still relatively new, and the tire was able to be repaired, I opted for a patch. The guys that took care of me were great and made the whole process quick and simple. Will be coming back when it’s time for my winter tires.

I needed a replacement tire for a 2017 Outback. I've had really bad luck finding a tire to fit my Subaru in the past. Standard had the brand and size I needed, had the old and damaged tire replaced in 30 minutes. They all did an outstanding job!

We had a tire blow up on the mountain south of Gunnison and went into town. Called around and Standard tire was the only place open on a Friday at 3:00. They were very helpful to get us what we needed. They had a used tire that would work for us until we could get back home. They were very reasonable for the used tire and mounted the tire for us on are rim and we put it back in the truck. They let us use one of their jacks to make it fast and easy. Everyone in town recommended them as well.

Wonderful place! We were on vacation and ended up with a flat. We Googled tire shops, and this one was the closest. they looked at it and said they'd try to patch it. We decided to replace the tires due to the amount of miles already on them and the amount of miles we had left to go. Same prices as at home and seemed very trustworthy!

I managed to limp to these Standard Tire in Gunnison just before closing.
The guys here were so helpful- both performing the tire change quickly and not charging me a fortune.

I will add the story following this, but to sum up my experience, these guys wasted my time and one guy even got smart and disrespectful with me, completely unhelpful and unprofessional. I wasted 5+ hours of my day waiting for them to tell me my tire was unrepairable.

The second week in August. I had a rock bust through the center of my Tire tread on the trail and made a pretty good Gash. I brought the wheel to these guys and asked them to tell me if it was repairable at all or if they could get me a spare.
I’ll try to add a picture of the spare they sold me later.
The young guy I dropped it off with seemed to be a good guy and told me he would see what they could do for me… meanwhile I had a 10 hour drive home the following day and clarified with these folks that I was in a bit of a pinch.
This was around 10am. The next hour I come back and they were on lunch break. I come back an hour after that and they still have not done anything with my wheel. An hour later a guy shows up with tractor tires and they take care of him almost instantly. So I go up again and ask what the status was, I was told “we will take care of your tire in a bit”. I walked up and asked them a few more times over the next hour and a half. Finally, it took them a total of three minutes to pull the tire off of the wheel and tell me they would not be able to repair it…
I WAITED 4.5 hours for them to do 3 MINUTES of work out of their other jobs to tell me it was unrepairable. I understand being overloaded with jobs as a Mechanic. But it’s not that hard to take care of a customer who is in a pinch and take one guy off of a job for a couple minutes…

Finally the guy offers me a very used tire to get me home. For 75$ he offers me this used tire with almost no tread left and some dry rot. Meanwhile my Nittos are only 200$… so I said “Well, can you do 50$ for this used tire?”
And he replied to me saying “You can keep your 50$ and I’ll give you your old tire back.”
Just a smart a$$ comment and I was very disappointed. Being my only option I said to put it on and swiftly paid/departed from there. Will not be back no matter if I have no other options in town. I’ll freaking go to Salida…

Inner dually tire on my RV went flat, I found out when I woke up at the campground this morning. I brought it to Standard Tire and although they thought it would take several hours to get me in because of the number of people ahead of me, they were actually able to get me in and fixed within an hour or so. I highly recommend them.
