I have nothing but good things to say about the Cardiology Department at the OSU Veterinary Medical Center. My cat Edgar was determined to be experiencing serious heart issues by my primary care veterinarian, and after recommendation, I decided to take little man here from the Cleveland area. They treated us like family from the moment we arrived, providing a comfortable room to discuss what Edgar was going through with a veterinary assistant. They conducted a series of tests and observations over about four hours and determined the problem. Dr. Jordan met with us to discuss in detail what was going on, and was extremely thorough, caring, and compassionate, going above and beyond to make sure Edgar got the best care possible. The cost was also very reasonable for the quality of care. I’ll forever be grateful for this medical center, and we’ll be back soon for follow up appointments.

Our cat Dexter had a medical emergency from a sudden illness and we were recommended to go to OSU for treatment. The woman who got us checked in was very friendly and complimented our Dexter's "orange nose", I never heard the color being described as orange before and loved that. Waiting times were never too long for us and always communicated well, we had our newborn baby and toddler with us so that was very appreciated. We received devastating news that our Dexter was rapidly declining and the chances of making a recovery were very slim. Our vet discussed humane euthanasia with us as an option and that seemed like the best choice to make in this situation because he was in so much discomfort. Our vet always explained everything and answered every question we had. They had nice quiet rooms with soft lighting set up for saying goodbye. I was able to hold our Dexter the whole time as she gave him the medications through an IV standing away from us so that his final moments were focused on being with us, his family. After he passed away they told me I could take as long as I needed and to just call them when I'm ready for him to be taken away from the room.

A week or so later I received an email that Dexter's memorial paw print was mistakenly sent to our old address. I responded and updated them with our new address and I received his paw print in the mail soon after. It was beautifully done, came in its own case with a poem and a place to put Dexter's picture. We also received an invitation to their annual remembrance ceremony. And our wonderful vet wrote us a personal sympathy card with such kind and reassuring words that brought me some peace of mind, I really appreciated it.

Although they could not save our Dexter, they made sure he passed peacefully and went above and beyond my expectations with the memorial paw print, card, and invitation. They made one of the worst days of my life much more bearable and we're grateful for that.

Horrible. The lady at the front desk was nice but everything else was just a bad experience. Took my cat here on Thanksgiving day due to not eating, throwing up and diarrhea. I waited 6 long hours. People coming in after me and leaving before. I understand there’s emergencies but I overheard these people and they were having same symptoms as my cat but still got out with their pet before. I waited 2 hours before I was even told what the plan was. We got there at 9 am and didn’t leave until a little after 3pm. They took everyone else into a private room to talk about their plan but they just talked to me in the middle of the lobby. I didn’t get any discharge instructions, still did not know what was wrong with my boy, they provided just fiber at the end when he was not eating. The fiber was a powder that went on food. They also told me they did supportive care for him but did not tell me what the supportive care was. Also he came back sopping wet in his butt area like he was peeing/pooping on himself and stunk incredibly bad. I did not even get to see him before going home. They took my carrier and put him in and sent us on our way. Horrible

Fantastic experience with the vet staff in the ophthalmology department. Our “senior” Blue heeler received amazing care before, during and after surgery and we couldn’t be happier with his recovery and results. Worth the 2+ hr drive to have their wonderful staff help us.

Both of my dogs have received treatment at OSU, ranging from ophthalmology, to orthopedics, to neurology. Whether a planned visit or emergency visit, the medical staff is always timely and thorough with their examinations and questions.

One of my dogs has a history of seizures in stressful situations (one of which is entering a bustling vet office). When the required check ups came around, the doctor and technicians came up with a truly out-of-the-box appointment method to keep him happy and relaxed.

Sometimes the bills aren’t cheep, but I truly trust their judgement and knowledge - that is hard to put a price on. Thank you!

We took our goat there because she was having hormonal problems and had to have her ovaries removed. I was extremely nervous for her to have surgery because I always heard goats don’t handle anesthesia well. Everyone there was so nice, caring and compassionate. The students were awesome and very professional. (and if any of you are reading this, good luck in your careers, you will be amazing). The fertility veterinarian and surgeons were amazing. They answered all our questions and were very caring. The surgery went well and our goat is back to normal. Thank you so much to each and every one who was involved. ❤️ We highly recommend them! O-H!!!
