During a separation, I allowed my children’s father to enroll my two boys into counseling. Denise McKay not only has unprofessional relationships with her clients, she also practices unethically. I have documentation verifying Denise changed my children’s insurance plan, without my consent or knowledge. Denise McKay was trying to diagnose my children with severe anxiety and depression, to aid my ex in receiving government issued assistance. When I visited the office, Denise refused to come out and meet me. I told her I wanted my children’s records. Her response was that I would have to schedule an appointment in the future. I have tried scheduling multiple times. To no avail! Mrs. McKay was court ordered to stay away from my boys. However, I have recently become aware of her interest and involvement in my children’s lives. She’s unethical, highly unprofessional and practices illegally.

I can’t even begin to explain how much the counseling I received has truly changed my life. Denise is absolutely the BEST of the BEST. I am no stranger to therapy and when I was searching for a counselor, I chose 3 places and decided I would visit each one and then choose the counselor I felt was best for me. The Son Shine Exchange was my first stop for that day…and my last because after meeting Denise and the other counselors there, I just knew this was the right place for my needs. Everyone is so genuine and they make you feel seen and especially heard. The services I have received have truly been everything to me. Denise is the best of the best. She is truly a healer and brightens up any room she walks into. Her spirit and her aura is like no other and I truly feel she is walking in her purpose. She is a healer and helped me see things that I could have never seen or got through without her. I’ve done both, couples counseling and my own personal counseling with The Son Shine Exchange and it’s been nothing short of amazing and it is all so worth it! If you’re struggling emotionally or just want some understanding and/or someone who’s going to tell you the truth and TEACH you healthier ways to cope and better yourself, The Son Shine Exchange is the place to go. If you need a place to go where you won’t feel judged for secrets or revelations, this is the place to go. If you need a place to go where you want to actually feel heard and where someone is ACTIVELY listening, this is the place to go. Do yourself a favor and reach out to them. My daughter has been blessed so much by Son Shine Exchange Counseling. Miss Denise has worked with her for a few years. She has been an amazing counselor. They make the counseling sessions fun and allow young ones to play and create while talking in a comfortable environment.
My daughter trusts and loves Miss Denise very much. She goes above and beyond and really cares for her patients. I would highly recommend their services.

Mrs Denise is so awesome!!!! My son has been seeing her for almost a year and she has been a blessing to us!!! She’s such a loving and kind hearted person and very down to earth!!! She even takes the time out of her busy schedule to check on him throughout the week❤️ We love her so much, her and all of her staff are amazing!!!!

Mrs. McKay did a great job with our child. She made her feel comfortable and at ease by introducing a very calm atmosphere and allowing her to express herself without judgment. We can definitely tell the difference from day one to present how her confidence is higher than ever before. We would definitely recommend Mrs McKay.

I found Lelia Denise Mckay, in 2020. She become my therapist and helped me improve my mental health tremendously. I would not be where I am today, if It weren't not for her. She will always find the time to help her patients out, no matter what. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for an excellent therapist.
