Ann and all the animals are absolutely amazing and not to be missed. Visiting the extraordinary sanctuary was a true highlight of our week on the Big Island. Ann approaches her (award-winning) work with a depth of care and integrity that is rare in this world. She is astonishingly well-attuned to the needs of the animals she saves and rehabilitates. This is an experience that isn't really possible to have anywhere else. Where else do you get a very up close chance to stroll around a field with a zebra, learn how spider monkeys say “hello,” or see ostriches strut around being ostrich-y? If you love animals or having unforgettable experiences or just want to meet an exceptional person, then this is simply a MUST DO.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Be sure to follow the directions on the website to reserve a place on one of their few weekly tours. Having been there, I now understand completely why they request that people do not just show up at the gate. Ann, the staff, and volunteers are far too busy attending to the needs of this remarkable menagerie to give tours on demand.

Extremely pleased with how much they care for their wildlife and the rehabilitation of their animals. We called to book a tour and currently they have some young new additions to the sanctuary so had to post pone enabling the new comers to settle in without new traffic and noises in the facility. I can’t say how much I appreciate this approach!! I will be buying some souvenirs from their online store and will visit next trip. Thank you for being such a wonderful haven that most would just take the money and not care about the animal’s well being.

We did the VIP tour which was a great small experience for our family with kids 6 to 10 - we had 6 people in our group. Anne was fantastic and did a great job explaining things to both the kids and adults, teaching the group how to think about interacting with wild animals, and her passion and knowledge on exotic animal care was really impressive and inspiring. We couldn’t believe how close we got to the zebra, ostriches, monkeys and lemurs and also how much we learned. I highly recommend a visit here if you like animals and are looking for something unique to do on the Big Island.

Three Ring Ranch is such a special place for animals and visitors alike. Ann has an incredible knack for understanding, rehabilitating, and nurturing so many creatures with difficult pasts to help bring them back to the lively spirits they once were. TRR feels like such a safe haven where animals can recover and live in peace and Ann is an amazing person to be in charge of it all. If time allows, you should take advantage of an opportunity to visit, and I couldn't think of anybody else to run an organization like this.

A very uniquely wonderful experience. This is not a petting zoo but you do get a very personal experience with the animals. If this was a petting zoo you get to experience the animals on your terms. Here you get to experience the animals on their terms in a manner that you know is as present for them as it is for you, unlike most places we might come in contact with exotic animals.

Because the primary purpose of the place is the well being of the animals they do not cater to your schedule. I recommend that you contact them in advance and be flexible. If they cannot schedule you or need to cancel it is due to the respect and care they have for the animals.

Three Ring Ranch was my favorite thing we did on our trip to the Big Island. I'm a lifelong fan of animals and I'm used to knowing a lot about their biology and behavior, but Ann Goody floored me with her understanding of them.

I learned so much about the very different ways each of her animals understands the world and communicates. Her predictions of their behavior were especially impressive. For instance, she explained how we could communicate to the zebra that we were on the lookout for predators so that it could take a break from keeping lookout for us, and like magic, the zebra did in fact relax, stop looking around, and started to graze.

I left feeling like I'd been given windows into a dozen different worlds. I can't imagine having that experience anywhere else. Thank you, Ann!
