So I write this review with both a heavy heart and day touched heart. I'll start off by saying that truvet is an amazing place with an amazing staff. Both veterinarians and vet techs alike, front desk operators can't be left out of this as they are the first people to interact with us, the customers and they never fail to be amazing at their jobs.

Truvet saved my dog Kai a couple years ago, they figured out quite quickly would need it to be done to save him and did it with ease. When my cat Layla was nearing her end there was no other place I saw fit for her farewell. They prepare the room for her. Allowed me enough space and time to do what I dreaded having to do but was there to comfort me and support me while I did it. When my dog Drogon was thought to have been electrocuted they were the first people that came to my mind to save him (turns out he had only been skunked).

My experience with them has led me to be confident that I can count on them in my times of need when it comes to my fur children.

Last year I found the lump on Drogon hine quarters, I was assured by another veterinarian place that it was nothing to worry about. A truvet veterinarian noticed the lump in August of this year when he was there for something unrelated and brought my attention to it. She prompted me to investigate it where was determined to be cancer.

This information came at the same time that Layla was nearing her end so you see this year has been tough on us. We lost Layla and now we fight for a Drogon.

A few days ago I took him in because I was concerned about an infection that had set in. I was greeted by the night staff as it was 11:20 p.m. or so. It was quiet and clean, I could hear the sound of running water as I was seated in the examination room. There, I was then greeted by a vet technician named Shawndell. She had a quiet demeanor, she stood and listened to my concerns, and was very present as she did. She listened with an empathetic ear. I could tell that she truly cared. I could also tell that she has an immense amount of value as she did disclose that she has been in the field for over 20 years. That in itself makes her treasure in my eyes, but the fact that she really and truly heard me and empathized with where I was at at this stage of Drogon's and I's journey was like a hug to my soul.

Sometimes it's hard to find people in this world who can stand there with you in that moment and be strength and kindness and comfort even if it's just for a moment. It can be enough to rejuvenate you. To give you a boost and fortify you for the rest of the journey however long you may have with your for a child. Thank you Shawndell. You're truly a gift in this world and I truly appreciate you. I don't know how long Drogon has, I pray that he has a lot more time. But I know that when the time comes, for him to transition into a new journey there's no other place that I trust to assist me in assisting him.

I must go on to say that they have gone above and beyond for me and my family. I am beyond impressed with them and I will choose them and trust them with the care of my fur children, always.

Just had a fantastic experience here with our pup Boo Girl. We suspected she had a foxtail in her which has happened before. They were able to take her in at 8pm on a Sunday. We are very grateful that they attempted and were successful at removing the foxtail WITHOUT sedating her. Like all dogs, our girl reads people and was more than happy to independently go with the vet and tech to her exam room! She is a very happy girl after the removal!

My 1 year old miniature dachshund was crying in the night and woke up with some facial swelling. It appears he had a minor allergic reaction, likely a bite or sting. The entire staff was friendly, effective, and thorough in their work. We were given a treatment care plan and were out in about an hour! My pup is feeling much better. Thank you Truevet for ensuring my trust in you.

My beloved senior dog, 13 1/2 yo, Boxer mix passed away unexpectedly on Saturday. My vet was closed but referred me to TruVet. When I called the staff at TruVet they were patient with me as I sobbed on the phone, they were compassionate, and they helped with the "next steps". Their customer service was OUTSTANDING and they rightly deserve a 5 star rating. My deepest gratitude to Team TruVet!!

I can’t stress it enough…do not use this emergency vet!
I called Tuesday to bring in my dog for lethargy/not eating/bloated stomach/fast breathing. Was told they were backed up and it would be at least a 2 hour wait. I said aren’t you an emergency vet, or is it first come first served? She then spoke to vet and said to come right in. The place and lot were empty when I arrived. The tech took my dog for vitals, came back and said vitals were good and not showing any signs of bloat. Said she had a vet look at him also. During the conversation she mentioned repeatedly how backed up and under staffed they were, and apologized for saying so. She showed me what signs to look for if bloat, and said I could bring him back in a couple hours but before midnight (they don’t take pets after 12) for an x-ray to rule out bloat. They couldn’t do it until then, they were short staffed. Then said it would be best to bring him back the next day. I explained that I know my dog and it may not be bloat but something is wrong with him. She basically ignored me and treated me as if I was overreacting. Even chuckled and said he’s just not feeling well. I felt I wasn’t going to get any help , so took him home and told her I would keep an eye on him. At least they didn’t charge me anything (they didn’t do anything). I definitely wasn’t going to bring him back there.
A few hours later my dog’s symptoms worsened. We rushed him to VCA in Rohnert Park. They met us in the parking lot with a guerney (90 lb German Shepherd), rushed him in to triage and within 15 minutes had the unfortunate diagnosis of a ruptured internal tumor and that had been bleeding into his stomach. He had lost a lot of blood and wouldn’t live much longer. We made the heart wrenching decision to put him down so he would no longer suffer.
A word of advice to Tru Vet……People know their pets. You should hear them when they say something is wrong and if you rule out something, look for something else. I realize that an earlier diagnosis probably wouldn’t have saved my dog, but it certainly would have lessened his suffering.

Came here on labor day weekend for emergency euthanasia for my best friend of 12yrs. They were so kind, gave plenty of time in the room. Came out with a gurnee for my yellow lab who could no longer walk and wheeled him in from the car. It was very affordable for private cremation compared to other vets in the area. The private cremation is included with the euthanasia, the urn, the paw print in the ashes through a company called Animal Memorial Services in Gilroy for less than $500. That's where they send your pet and then when your pet is cremated within the week, they mail it back to TruVet. I'm so happy I went with this vet. It was my first time cremating a pet so I was very anxious about the whole process but they put my mind at ease and I would trust the process again. Thank you everyone for caring for my best friend at an affordable price during a difficult time

I have have had to use TRU-Vet 3 times for my doodles. They have always been caring and have expert care. They doctors are very knowledgeable and do everything to help deal with our best friends illnesses. My little puppy was always getting into trouble and they were always right on with her care. It is a 10-15 minute drive from Novato. They aren’t cheap but take credit cards. They can help you sign up for Care Credit which gives you 6 months to pay without interest. I have used this card with all my dogs. I have used other emergency services for my many dogs in Marin and Santa Rosa but this place is my favorite . They also use soft collars instead of those hard plastic ones.
