This is a note for all pet parents. Please do not bring your pets to this facility. All they care about is money. They do not care about your animals at all on July 18, 2024. We brought my mom's emotional support animal. Keep in mind he was an emotional support animal. We brought him in because he wasn't feeling well And all they wanted to do was us and hound us about money. They never once asked us what were his symptoms how was he acting? They didn't even care to bother with him. All they cared about was asking for money and then we were quoted one price over the phone only to get there and have to have them tell us that it's another Price they let my mom's emotional support animal lay on a table in pain in suffering only for him to pass away because they did not want to do their jobs only then afterwards he passed away then they told us they could give him a $50 IV bag and antibiotics and then a nurse took him in the back and put him in a box and wheeled him out to our vehicle and told us we were lucky to even to have a free box warning may show, graphic content. I will post a photo before and after of how my mom's emotional support animal left their facility. and keep in mind this beautiful sweet loving German Shepherd was only a year old

Very poor communication and service. Got there at 8:30 pm was told 2 hours or so before vet would be able to see her and about two hours for treatment (needed sutures on her face). I was told another vet was coming in soon and they would be able to move a bit faster. No problem I know how it works she wasn’t bleeding to death. At 1130 pm I call from the waiting room asking for a blanket and some pain meds for her. They tell me they will be out shortly that the vet would order meds. At 12:15 I call from the waiting room again and am told they will get to her when they can…10 minutes later she gets pain meds finally. At 1:30 am I ask for an update and I was told that she may not get seen tonight… and that is why I was told to leave her. Problem was NO ONE EVER SAID THAT!!! I spent 5 1/2 hours there for no help!!! My dog suffered for hours. I understood they were busy but maybe I would have been better off if I made more noise about getting her back sooner. I may have gotten better information and been able to make the decision to bring her somewhere else sooner! BLUE PEARL GAINESVILLE FOR THE SAVE!

Do NOT go here. This is the second time my daughter has had to take her cats here and both times it has been a HORRIBLE experience. We will drive to Tampa or Orlando from now on because it should not take 3 hours after they have told you they have finished everything they plan to do for your pet for them to be able to check you out and release your pet to you. It is excruciatingly painful to sit in the waiting room and be able to hear your young cat crying for you and when you ask for a status update to have the door slammed in your face.

I’ve had to take two different dogs there, one with a kidney stone, the other having strokes. Everyone there is so compassionate. Every option was explained to me and there was absolutely no pressure to go the most expensive route. Very thankful to have this emergency service available in Ocala.

I went last night with my cat because she was urinating with blood. The doctor was not even able to perform a physical exam for my cat because she was being “aggressive” and wouldn’t let them.
The doctor recommended sedating my baby just to perform a regular physical examination and blood work.
Every doctor I’ve been to has been able to perform a basic physical examination. I understand if doctors need sedation for blood work and other type of test but she wanted to charge me for something she wasn’t able to do.
Her recommendation besides sedating my baby was an injection for pain and stress relief medicine.
I asked if they were able to at least check her vitals, her gums, eyes, or palpated her to see if there was any swelling and the doctor said NO.
The doctor explained she was not gonna be able to prescribe medicine if a physical exam was not performed (charged). But that’s what she was going to do in the first place. I asked if she could send me medicine without being charged for the examination since they were not able to do it and she said no. She just wanted to charge for something she didn’t do. I suggested holding my cat so that they could at least palp her belly and check her vitals and whatever involves the basics. she said she wouldn’t allow that because it would mean putting me in danger. I wasted three hours in the ER, my cat left stress and in pain anyway because they didn’t do anything.

Took in my 1 year old pup after being hit by a car night of super bowl 2024. They took her in and I didnt hear about her for 2 hours. Finally, doctor took us in a room, showed us nothing, just told us all these things that were wrong with her. I have taken 2 of my previous dogs there before and both times they had screwed us over. It was my only option at 10pm at night though. They told me she had fluids in her and a broken hip. Due to the times they screwed me over in the past, I took the chance of not believing them, and I took my pup home and prayed all night. After telling them im taking my pup home and im not paying them an extra 800 dollars to nurse her there overnight, they continued to tell me how my pup is gonna go home and suffer and die. Told me that word for word. Made me feel terrible about it. They also offered to go ahead and euthanize her for an additional 700 dollars. I said no thankyou im taking my dog home. Docter continues to basically throw my dog back into my arms, says not a single word, slams the door in my face as she walks out of the room. And that was described with no exaggeration. After taking her home and praying all night, she made it through the night. Very first thing next morning took her to a different emergency pet hospital. Ran scans on her again, unlike UF they sat down with us and showed us every x-ray and scan they took on her. Showed us there was 0 fluids in her and how her hip was just fine. She does have a minor fracture in a joint that connects to her hip but nothing like UF made it sound. Also unlike UF, they gave her antibiotics, pain killers, and anti-inflammatory medications, wrapped her leg where she had gashes, and treated her and us with much more care and respect then UF for less then half of what we payed UF. 1200$ to UF for them to lie and help my puppy in no way. Now, more then a week later, my puppy is improving great. She is doing very well, eating fine and drinking lots of water. Her blatter and butt are working great not any signs of something wrong. UF doesnt care about you and your pets, they only care about that dollar!! Never will I trust that place! Im sure im forgetting to mention something. (pictures linked are from today now more then a week after accident)

Our 14 year old dog had bloody diahrrea. Rushing her to the emergency vet they kept her for 4 hours to test her and charged us over $700 to diagnose nothing except hospitalize her for fluid loss. Since we can do sub q we opted not to leave our anxious pet. The vet called but had no time to see us in person and never offered anti diahrreal meds for her. She continued having horrible bloody poop for 2 more days until our vet could work her in. A shot and some flgytl/metronidazole, a common widely prescribed drug, and she was a brand new dog. Exhausted from days of diahrrea she slept all night long like a rock! The vet on staff never called my spouse, like I asked to go over treatment and NEVER talked to both of us in person even though we both asked. How unprofessional and unfeeling are you people You would let an old dog suffer for days when you could have helped her feel better immediately. You act like nothing more than unfeeling, uncaring money grubbers whose sole purpose in life is to line your own pockets. We are elevating our complaint and we will never bring a sick dog here again. Think twice before you take your pet here and be assertive if you do...make them talk to you!

I brought in my two week old puppy today due to him falling sick. This emergency vet is THE best vet I’ve been to in all my years of owning pets. They were quick to get my sweet boy in and the doctors were amazing and so caring. They gave me multiple payment options that helped us out tremendously. I recommend taking your pet here in an emergent situation. Thank you UF Ocala for helping with my sweet boy!
