My little boy Bruce and I love Dr Sara and everyone at University Animal Clinic! Bruce has been a patient of Dr Sara and her team for over a year and has always had top notch care. We are very grateful to have found such a knowledgeable and compassionate provider who takes such great care of our little guy. This office is hands down THE best! Front staff is caring and friendly. All of the vets and techs are kind, knowledgeable, and professional. Dr. Sam is an incredible exotics vet and has been treating my leopard tortoise for almost 2 years. Their appointments are flexible and they even have a drop off service so your pet can be seen. Highly, highly recommend this office to anyone who wants to be treated like family. (I also have 3 cats that get seen here)

I am very grateful for University Animal Clinic for scheduling an appointment on such short notice. Erica N. was thorough in asking about my cat's history and current symptoms. Dr. Sara Velic zeroed in on my cat's health problem and alleviated the symptoms. The sweetest gesture was receiving a text the next day inquiring about Callie's status. Day by day, Callie is getting stronger, healthier and back to her old self. I appreciate the staff's compassion and expertise.

I have a 3 year-old Golden Retriever who was recently diagnosed with mast cell tumor. A month post treatment of the MTC, I noticed swollen lymph nodes and went back to see the specialist who had treated him. The specialist would have required a week before testing the lymph nodes due to scheduling. I walked in without an appointment to UAC in uncontrollable tears. The front staff handled my anxiousness perfectly and gave reassurance. Dr. Lexi saw us right away and did an FNA of two lymph nodes. The results were positive for lymphoma. She personally called me with the results and expressed her sincerest condolences. Dr. Lexi will be the one who will be putting him down when the time comes. I have never felt more at home then after enduring such traumatic news from a staff who not only knew how to handle it, but also felt my pain as well. The staff at this clinic will always be viewed as family to me. I cannot express enough how grateful I am to have them and their support through this terrible process. They truly love their patients and the patients' owners.

Dr. Sam is incredibly knowledgeable of reptiles. It’s hard to find a good reptile vet, but after my first appointment with her today I am fully confident that she will be able to help me get my bearded dragon back to health.
They were thorough with their questioning of her diet and husbandry, which I absolutely love because a lot of people don’t provide the correct care to their beardies. It’s very evident that she knows what she’s talking about.
I initially brought my beardie to another exotics vet (out of respect for this vet, I will not name the clinic), and I questioned the other vets treatment plan. Dr. Sam confirmed that I was providing the correct care, and thoroughly examined my pet. She took the time to explain what they’ll be looking for with her blood work, and was very gracious when my beardie relieved herself all over the exam table (lol)
After dealing with one vet that I was very unsure about, seeing Dr. Sam has given me a sense of hope and optimism I haven’t felt in weeks. The staff is incredibly friendly and kind, and my beardie was handled carefully and gently. Everyone treated her like they would treat a cat or a dog, which I haven’t encountered with previous vets. The tech was very sweet to her and treated her like a living thing and not an inanimate object. I couldn’t be happier. I will be staying with Dr. Sam going forward, and can confidently recommend anyone in the Sarasota/Bradenton area to her. She truly cares about your pet, and she knows her stuff.
I look forward to working with her exclusively. Thank you, Dr. Sam, for everything you do, and for being so kind to my scaly child.

I was heading out of town the night my cat got sick. With my daughter’s help, I was able to schedule an appointment the next day, get Kiki there, communicate with Dr. Dakin, get appropriate diagnostics and ultimately get my cat healthy again. I couldn’t be more pleased with Dr. Dakin and the staff at UAC!

If you are in search of an avian vet in the area look no further! I had a difficult time finding anyone who would see my bird, but am so glad I found University Animal Clinic. Dr. Sam is so sweet and knowledgeable. The staff is also very friendly and were a great help with the multiple appointments we had to make for an eye infection. The clinic is very clean. You never feel like you are leaving your feathered friend in bad hands. I was nervous for the sedation and operation on my bird, but he was in great hands and when I picked him up he was in great spirits. Bonus - the pricing is very reasonable unlike other places that quoted me over 4x the price at University Animal Clinic. Thank you for taking good care of your patients!

Has remedied my dogs eyes twice now when my vet back north didn’t. Also suggested a shot once a month for his allergies rather than trying to pill him everyday. Game changer! The 1700 miles I travel to Florida is worth every mile.
