Our rare and wonderful Seppala Siberian Sleddog Lady underwent major surgery removing tumored left kidney and spleen , malignant left adrenal gland, and partial removal of liver cancerous tumor. The surgical team, techs, and staff all outstanding. She is now in continuing care with UF oncology for the bit of liver tumor that could not be removed and monitoring for possible other cancers. They’ve given quality of life and hope for our treasured fur family member.

Bright my husky in die to seizures. I'm this very scary time they made us feel comfort. The facility is superb but....

The staff (every single person I encountered) was absolutely amazing.

If your animal needs help in ways the smaller places can't help....I strongly suggest this place.

UF is the best of the best in veterinary medicine. Their doctors practice the highest quality of medicine. They went above and beyond for my cat and their communication and empathy toward me was exceptional. Prices were very fair especially for a big specialty hospital providing advanced level of medicine. Highly recommend! Special thank you to Dr. LaVigne for taking such good care of my cat.

We saw an ophthalmologist for our Great Dane at the clinic at the WEC. The clinic was very clean, nicely maintained. The staff was very nice. They were very friendly and helpful. The doctor and nurse handled him with such wonderful care.
The staff and clinic staff were all extremely professional, the wait time was super minimal, and they were great with my dog. I couldn’t ask for anything more! The cost of the visit was very reasonable as well. We will definitely use them again in the future.

I never do these reviews !

That said this experience has been on my mind for several months

I was worried about my old English bulldog
She was not herself and she was around 4 yrs old

I understand things happen and we all make mistakes

I brought her in on a Saturday night and had her checked out, ultrasound, X-ray and so on

I was told it was upset stomach she was ok and to give her lots of fluids

3 days later she is not ok and I am worried

I bring her back and after tests, we discover a blockage and she needed surgery. I ok this and surgery is performed. She had eaten a baseball and over the last several days she had ruptured her intestines. She was now is septic and outcome was unsure.

Longe story short the initial visit was misdiagnosed. She ended up not making it.

All this said and a ten figure bill, I am ok with!

After this was over I was informed there is still a balance for let’s say 1400 for medication extras.

Ownership of the situation is very simple! We apologize we made an error and misdiagnosis of your pet and ultimately ended in her passing.

The extra bill after the fact is not an issue of money but ownership. If this was a human the malpractice attorneys would stand in line.

Disappointed that I could not get with upper mgt to at least at a minimum see that this out come could have been different.

A bill after the pet had passed and absolutely no ownership for the outcome really upsets me. We made a mistake and we apologize goes a long way!

I took my dog into emergency room on Friday. We had been vomiting and not peeing, and appeared to have been building up fluid. He had heart failure 5 weeks before and was treated quickly then by cardiology. We arrived about 12 15 noon, they took Louie back, after 2 and half hours later the Dr Murphy came to ask what was wrong with him. I told her as I did to receptionist when I got there. I asked why it took so long before triage, she said other animals that had came in 30 to 1 hours later needed to be treated first. I said I was not happy with that answer, most of those cats and dogs had ate something. They can in hours after my dog. They had stuck Louie in oxygen tank and left him there for almost 3 hours. So after tests he got worse, and by 5 45pm he was dieing on the table. I asked them to put him to sleep. He was in arrest, painfull, took several minutes for him to stop breathing. That is not acceptable from a university emergency room.

About two years ago me and my girlfriend took our cat here after he had an urinary blockage. They treated him but charged about 1500$ more than any other place would, and they gave him back covered in poop with a cone over his head that had another cats name on it (which was also covered in poop). We asked what we can do to prevent this in the future we were told that there isn’t anything we can do and that some cats just have this happen to them unfortunately. They had also cut all of his nails all the way to the nerve, we could see the blood in his nails and he clearly was in pain from that too. Fast forward to the future our cat got blocked again but we took him to a different vet, it was significantly cheaper and they told us he needs to be on a wet food prescription diet to prevent this from happening, and of course we were shocked since UF didn’t even mention anything about a prescription diet. Like many other reviews mentions, the people taking care of your pets are students that don’t fully know and understand how to even treat your pet, and they will over charge for every single procedure here for a worse experience.

I would not take your animals here they'll tell you what you want to hear tell you everything you think is good take your money. Tell you your dog's going to make it. 24 hours later your dog's dying they tell you can bring them back then you get there then want $3,500 or they can't see your dog after they guaranteed the venom they gave him from the snake bite would work which was not enough they didn't do accurate work. Then tell me sorry if my dog was really loved we can process the money to have him fixed. Personally if you love your animals and want them to live don't come here don't go there they're the worst their prices is out the roof they lie they still they don't care about your pet they care about the money they're putting in their pocket
