AMAZING hospital. The staff was extremely kind and comforting. They communicated every single thing that was done or had to be done. They saved my cats life overall and I couldn’t be more grateful. From admitting our fur baby to discharge they were so sweet and kind and extremely extremely extremely helpful. These people care for animals. Seriously. We took the drive from Chicago to Champaign and was 100% worth it. May god bless every single person working at this hospital! You are all truly angels! Our 7 year old cat had a full bladder and urinary blockage (extremely serious as it can be fatal) and every place in the city had either told us they couldn’t help or the funds were just way too high to pay. They took my cat in immediately and started helping him as fast as they could no problem at all. Thank you so so so so so much!

We took our pups blue Sunday with issues he was having, and Dr.fidler and her staff were so amazing.. Sadly we had put him down Monday evening due to him having cancer.. Dr.fidler was literally the best. She answered our questions even if we asked it multiple times.. and walked us through everything.. You can tell when someone loves what they do, And she definitely does. Thank you for all your help, and the paw prints and nose prints. We will forever cherish it.

They took such amazing care of our cat when we came in late at night. All of the doctors were such caring towards us and our boy and even though they’re a bit pricey it definitely reflects in their care and they even worked with us and our budget. They were also very helpful in talking to us and just informing us on his needs and treatments. I couldn’t recommend them enough

I had to take my cat Shoshanna in for an emergency appointment and was met with some of the kindest, most compassionate people I have ever encountered. Dr. Park had the unfortunate job of delivering the news that my kitty was very sick, and did so with calm professionalism. I had asked to see my cat while she was recovering and was unable but Dr. Park had pictures and videos of her to show me when I dropped in to sign some forms.

Every person there was able to explain exactly what was happening in a way that I could understand and made me feel that they were as invested and concerned with my cat's health as I am. Dr. Summerfield and Dr. Park have been very realistic with me about the prognosis for my cat, which I appreciate. For such an unfortunate situation, I could not have asked for a better staff to treat my baby.

I will always come here in any specialty situation or emergency with my babies. All 4 of my dogs have now (unfortunately) been seen through EMG and every single time we have been treated with such kindness and respect. Wait times have been consistently amazing considering how many animals they have to take care of and owners they have to console, that people in the lobby do not see. Not very many people understand what happens behind the scenes and the professionalism and communication has always been 5 stars. I definitely will always recommend the U of I and will continue to bring my Giant babies here in any case of emergency and/or specialist needs.

The staff was extremely kind and compassionate when I had to bring in my sick chicken Meredith. Unfortunately she was too sick to recover, but I was able to be with her the whole time as she was peacefully put to rest, and they even gave me a memorial footprint with her name on it.

The best care for your animals. My service dog ripped open her paws and was bleeding out. I rushed her in without even a collar and the critical care people immediately got her as we arrived. The entire team, the doctor, social worker, front desk people, and door personnel, were ALL OUTSTANDING yesterday and into this morning. I am so thankful for such amazing care for my "baby". This was our second visit and they are always incredible. Top notch service. A+

Last weekend we had to say goodbye to our precious guinea pig Moo Moo Cow. She suddenly declined one day, though she was 8 years old with an ovarian tumor. We took her into the emergency clinic and they brought her to the back immediately. Her sudden decline was very concerning, and I'm glad they took the issue seriously.

Unfortunately, in the end, we decided on euthanasia. It was heartbreaking, but the staff had the best bedside manner, were sensitive and empathetic, and were SO supportive in the process. She passed peacefully and without any pain it seemed. The vet was kind, gentle, and careful with the procedure.

Afterward, they gave us a little clay mold of her paw prints. I am SO amazed at how thoughtful they are for this! I was way too hysterical to even think about asking for that, but they did it free of charge without me asking. Sent us home with a card filled with sweet messages too. They really gave us the best possible experience for such an upsetting, difficult event. Their efforts made ALL the difference in our grieving process--which is crucial. I can't thank them enough.
