If you have an emergency with your pet, this is the ideal place if you don't know where to go. They have 24 hour care. In my case, my cat was having trouble urinating. I called to see what the procedure is for caring for my cat and they listened to me thoroughly about what was happening. We arrived and the attention was excellent at the front desk. First, we went to the doctor's assistant to explain what was happening with our cat, to check her teeth and her temperature. The assistant really took her time with us, listening to our animal's behavior. A few minutes later, the doctor arrived and gave us the diagnosis along with two treatment options. He was very sincere about the diagnosis and the treatments we should follow. This clinic is very nice and it is also accessible to get to.

I had a terrible experience at URvet Midtown due to the unprofessionalism and rudeness of the front desk receptionist, Loretta. I brought my cat in for an emergency at midnight and called ahead to explain the urgency of the situation. When I arrived, Loretta was on the phone, which I patiently waited for her to finish. After she finally acknowledged me, she had me fill out a form and assured me that a nurse would take my cat for evaluation immediately once I submitted it.

I filled out the form right away and handed it to her. Instead of the "immediate" care she promised, I was left waiting indefinitely with no updates. While I waited, another pet owner came out from the back, and Loretta proceeded to assist them with their payment, taking an excessive amount of time while I sat there with my cat still in distress. At this point, I approached Loretta again to ask for an update. Once again, she assured me it would be immediate—right after she finished with the other customer.

However, as I walked away, she muttered under her breath that I was "RUDE" for asking about my pet’s care. When I confronted her, she doubled down and justified her attitude by saying that the other pet owner had just euthanized their pet, as if I was somehow expected to know that. First of all, I had no way of knowing what was happening with another patient, and second, I was simply advocating for my pet, just as anyone would in an emergency.

To make matters worse, while my cat was waiting in the checkup room, Loretta came up to me again and told me she STILL thought I was rude. This level of unprofessionalism is completely unacceptable for someone working in an emergency veterinary setting, where pet owners are already stressed and worried.

A front desk receptionist has no right to pass judgment on a concerned pet owner simply for asking about their pet's urgent care. Her job is to provide clear, professional communication—not to shame customers for advocating for their pets. If you're coming to this clinic in distress, be prepared to deal with condescension and passive-aggressive comments instead of the compassionate service you deserve.

I will be escalating this complaint to the management team. If you value professionalism and respect in an emergency situation, I strongly suggest you go elsewhere.

I have been to several veterinarians and veterinarian offices through the years but this by far was the nicest space and had the most caring staff. I was pleasantly surprised by how clean it was, no pet hair anywhere. The space was beautifully decorated with a very calming feel to it. The staff went out of their way to make sure both my dog and I were comfortable. The doctor took time to listen and explain what was going on. It was seamless from the time I called to make the appointment until the time I checked out and left. I would absolutely recommend the UR Vet Midtown Medical Center.

I am truly grateful for the entire team at URvet Care—from the front desk staff to the techs, nurses, and doctors. Each person showed genuine care and professionalism while taking care of my cat. Despite his condition, he seemed comfortable and well looked after. I feel so lucky to have found this wonderful clinic and its amazing team. I highly recommend them!

Came here for two fairly urgent visits for my dog Cyrus, who had a pretty bad GI issue. I called ahead at night & first thing in the morning and they were able to get me in immediately for an appointment.

However they were incredibly busy so we did wait over 2 hours to be seen once we arrived at night. Since we live 5 minutes away I wish they would’ve mentioned it and we could’ve gone home to wait instead.

We came back the next morning & my dog ended up needing hospitalization for the day and they were incredibly caring and even took him out for a walk (because he won’t go to the bathroom inside). They gave me 2 updates during his ~8 hour stay which was very much appreciated.

However I did have to follow up to get a prescription food approved on Chewy as well as my invoice for the visit so I could submit to insurance. Hopefully this can be automated in the future.

Overall very good care for my pup and I would go back since they are open 24/7 and very close by.

One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with any vet. The vet that saw us was scared of my little dog and was half asleep, couldn’t even speak a full sentence. Told us we needed to “emergency surgery” and a 3 night stay. Gave us a price tag that’s 4 times higher than what we ended up having to paid at an actual loving and caring facility. I do not trust the vet we saw to do surgery on anything. Not only that but the CEO AND THE COO tried to scare us into getting the surgery done and neither of them has any medical degrees. We would never go back to URVET and no one should entrust their pets with them. Trying to squeeze money out of loving pet owners is the lowest of the low.

Update: I love how you can’t even get the gender of my pet correctly even in your attempt to make yourself looks good. This is the level of detail and lack of care that made us never return to you guys again and need to warn anyone else about placing their love ones in your care

I brought my pet to this clinic hoping for quality care (and sister clinic in Astoria) but, unfortunately, my experience did not meet expectations. After a procedure, complications arose that required me to seek a second opinion at another clinic. The new veterinarian identified issues that needed correction, and my pet is now receiving appropriate care.

While I can’t share all the details at this time (and there are way more), I encourage pet owners to thoroughly research their options and ask detailed questions before proceeding with treatment. I also recommend considering all reviews with a balanced perspective, as feedback is often requested at the clinic under circumstances where clients may feel inclined to provide immediate positive responses.

Please take my experience into account, and if the clinic responds to this review, as they often do, I encourage you to reflect carefully and keep my words in mind. I have nothing to gain from sharing my experience other than helping fellow pet owners make informed decisions, and I sincerely wish you and your pet the best.

We had a great experience here with our pup! We brought him in for an emergency, and he was seen very quickly. The staff was very thorough and friendly. The location is clean and nicely decorated. We were in and out with our pup’s meds in an hour, which was a nice surprised since we have stayed at another pet urgent care for over 4 hours. The prices for his exam and treatment were also very fair. We would recommend URvet!
