Im sorry to write that my experience at Valley Oak Veterinary Hospital was very frustrating and sad. I called on 11/02/2024 to fill my mother's 12-year-old Chihuahua who was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. I am carrying for Kari as she belongs to my mother who is currently out of the country. I was informed that in Kari's record, only my mother can call in for her prescription. I did not get the medication but I did get a prescription so I could fill it elsewhere. I don't know if you are aware that unless the Vet actually does a physical examination on the dog the prescription cannot be filled. I know my mother called, I am unaware as to what transpired between her and the office manager Donna Thornburgh but I can tell you that there was no compassion for Kari. She did not get her medication. It is really sad because Kari is the patient and relies on humans to get all needs met. I wonder about the humanity and compassion of Donna the office manager as she is the one blocking that Kari get her prescription. Yes, I tried going through Chewy and it was denied. As I mentioned, I did get the prescription signed by another Veterinarian, not Dr. Richard Thornburgh. One should also question the ethical practices of this office.

We relocated to Woodland and were so happy to find this vet. They have a very caring and knowledgable staff. They also can usually get you in pretty quick. We sadly lost our dog recently due to old age, but will be using this vet with our next pet. Thank you again!

Being a multiple pet household, we often find ourselves in need of veterinary services.
VCA valley oak has become our first choice even though we live 1.5 hours drive away and have much closer options.
The staff is always kind, compassionate, efficient, and professional.
We recently brought our beloved 13 year old cat, Nick, to an urgent appointment when we learned he is terminally ill.
Dr. Lettner support through the extremely emotional and difficult decision and process of putting him down the same day was extremely helpful. I can’t imagine how much harder this would have been without it.
They are not the cheapest option around, but worth every penny.
We will come again with our new kittens, hopefully only for routine care.

Love this office. Clean and small. Prices are fair. They get appointments made within a reasonable time. Dr. Thornburgh is informative and caring. Wants the best for the animals but is understanding of financial limitations. I've taken my 5 year old dog here since he was a puppy. And my 14 year old dog here for a long time as well.

I rescued a six year old Chihuahua mix, Roxy 6 months ago. They spayed her, fixed her hernia, clipped her nails, gave her an allergy shot to stop her from biting her paws, and prescribed her medicine for an ear infection all in the same appointment.

Best Veterinary care in woodland. I can't say enough about the staff at Valley Oak. They are so positive and professional. My animals love them. You are charged a fair price and you are able to go in with your animal. No nonsense or extra frills just simply great care.

Took my dog in today.... I thought it was the right time. Got the time wrong. Ran a little late. They won't excepted us while my dog has a lot problems. That one girl work in the back is so damn rude. Can they be nice & get it right? I won't coming back at there if it keeps happening..... ?
