I have been going to Value Vet for my dog for 12 years. I go to Dr.Davidson, who is fabulous. Also Rose, one of the technicians goes above and beyond anything I’ve ever seen. They truly love animals and don’t try to rob you.

I am also leaving this review for another staff member named Sonia, whose extraordinary kindness needs to be documented as it is so unusual these days. Please read the following as it is incredible!

Sonia, who works with Dr. Werber (not even our doctor) braved LA traffic, on the Friday before a holiday weekend (likely hours out of her way) to HAND DELIVER an rx that had been delayed in the mail.
The office was closing early. My dog would have gone through a miserable 3 days had she not brought the pills to my house! I will never go to any other clinic - we will never to be a dog-less household, so I’m talking about a long time!

My cat doesn't do well with strangers or being held, but she does very well with Dr. Werber. He's very personable and good with answering any and all questions. The office can be a little chaotic, but what vet clinic isn't. The only complaint is that they always seem to be running behind. The vet saw us an hour after our appointment time. This extra time adds to our cat's stress, but we like Dr. Werber and his service enough to come back.

One more note- a cat nail trim costs $22, so be aware. They used to do it complimentary in your appointment.

I understand they are a busy clinic, but for these last few appointments we’ve scheduled they have been 90+ minutes late in rooming us. I would rather they schedule me later than cram me into a day where I have to sit in a waiting room for this long.

* UPDATE Took off one star from my original review as, since the new office and new vet Dr Werber is there, it can be rather chaotic. Dr Werber has a kind of Hollywood following ‍♀️. Hence there can be some interesting personalities in the waiting area now. This has nothing to do with Dr Davidson as he is still wonderful. But the prices have gone up. Probably to pay for the expansion and renovation! But we will never stop going to Dr D. We love him. And he is conservative with tests et. He tries to keep prices reasonable when you are on a budget. Value Vet Westwood is, hands down, the best vet establishment I have ever visited in LA. Dr Davidson has been our vet for about 3 years now. He is kind, compassionate, funny, honest and will never over prescribe tests or medication. He takes a conservative approach and understands that vet bills add up. He would never order a test he didn't think was absolutely necessary. But the quality of care my dog gets is A+++. Just this past weekend I got to meet his associate Dr Hall as Dr D was away on vacation and my dog hurt his back. Dr. Hall is amazing as well. When I questioned whether my dog should have a baseline x ray she told me it was not necessary because she could tell what was going on from palpating his body. When I asked if a steroid shot, in addition to meds, would help she told me just to administer meds as soon as we got home and keep him resting. My dog was up and walking close to completely normally in 12 hours!!! I'm amazed by Value Vet. The staff is also wonderful and obviously loves animals. It isn't a fancy place. You will need to show up early and possibly return after lunch for your appointment. The one exam room is the size of walk in closet. And I love all of it because the quality of care is what matters. There are tons of fancy vet offices with cushy waiting rooms but you are paying for all that when they tack on lots of tests and high priced products you don't really need. Take it from someone who has been a volunteer in animal rescue for 20+ years Value Vet is a rare authentic find. Pro Tip, do call if you aren't showing up first thing in the morning to line up. If the doctor has operations in the afternoon they may not be taking patients and if the morning was busy there may be no afternoon appointments left. Best to be there first thing in the morning if the issue is urgent.

This veterinary office used to live up to it's name. It was truly a value when it was a tiny office headed up by a caring Dr. Davidson. then it was bought out and enlarged by a greedy couple who raised the prices sky high and charge a 3% credit card fee on top of that. So that is the end of any value. The staff has a huge attitude problem and makes you wait 45 minutes or more even with an appointment. They also don't prioritize dogs who need help right away. I waited with my dog who had bloody diarrhea for someone who was coming in for a yearly checkup. It's a shame what has happened to this once great place.

The staff works hard and Dr. Werber is great. They get very busy and the waiting area can get a little crowded. Street parking so plan ahead.

Had a 3pm appointment - got to see the vet at 3.25 pm
Had a 12 pm appointment - informed that no room available. Already waiting for 20 minutes and told they needed 5-10 minutes more.

I have been taking my cats here for a couple of years now and Dr. W is great! It's clear he loves animals and has lots of experience! The staff at the front have a million things going on but they are nice and respectful. Bottom line, I trust them with my pets' lives...
