This is the best vet on the planet. Everybody here is wonderful. Appointments are timely, staff is friendly and forthcoming about any potential costs, etc. I travel an extra 20min just to come to this location and it is worth every penny. Thank you so much for continuing to take such excellent care of my dog.

Today at VCA Aspenwood there was a substitute vet there, Dr. Leavitt. She was incredibly rude to me and my dog around answering my questions and performing the exam. She "has a bad back" and therefore would not examine my dog but in reality was afraid of him (I saw her sitting and bending with another dog in an exam room). She would dismiss anything I would say and not directly answer any of my questions around my sick dog. She acted like she had no idea what she was doing and had to step away to look everything up. I have lost confidence in VCA treating my dog and will no longer be seeking medical help there.

I saw Dr. Brownlee and her assistant Madeline for a wellness check for my feline. I was greeted and immediately taken to the exam room to wait. Staff is attentive and welcoming, they answered all my questions. Very informative and provided clear communication on care. Also shout out to Tyler for answering my questions via phone this morning to confirm my appointment. Sadie found her vet home!

Pet owners BEWARE!
Good:
1) Convenience - this veterinarian clinic is located near us and therefore we have frequented it a couple times due to its convenience
2) The veterinarian that we interacted with was friendly and cordial and they appear to care for your pet

Now, the bad, very bad:
1) The waiting times on the few visits that we have had here does seem to be a bit long
2) The prices!! Again, the prices! Let me explain:
The couple times we have taken our pet to VCA Aspenwood for a wellness check and and issue for his eyes and foot. For context, his eyes were swollen (allergies) and he was limping for a few days on one of his hind feet. The cost for these two visits were almost $600 dollars!?! Not sure what was denoted in our pet's medical record but even with pet insurance, we were responsible for the entire out-of-pocket costs!?! We did not know how expensive and overpriced this vet clinic's prices were until we did some comparison after the fact. Here is what we found: (price quotes as of 08/2024)

The average price increase of VCA prices over a generic competitor is 157.78%.

While we can be just as emotional with the care of our pets as we can with our own family members, I think this is unacceptable and appears even VCA may be taking advantage of this relationship. Per the itemized items on our receipt, we were charged for EVERYTHING even the dog cone @ $6+ dollars.

Needless to conclude, this will be our last visit at VCA Aspenwood. Though it is convenient, you forego this opportunity cost with the exhorbiant price increases. I think now with the price increases of everything else, it would be prudent to spend a little time shopping around before just taking your pet to any animal clinic. You could very well and quite literally pay the cost!

The staff here is amazing and the exam rooms are very clean. They took excellent care of my Dalmatian when she had a very nasty ear infection. They definitely have my return business as long as I live in Glendale area.

Went to meet a new Veterinarian for our new rescue. We chose VCA Aspen and couldn’t be happier with our choice. They will be Ruby’s new health care providers.

Love it right by my house, everyone kinda friendly, first time I did have to schedule the latest appointment, but the assistant whatever she was seemed like annoyed, and just wanted to get through the appointment, treated me like I was dumb or something, like whatever I just really needed to get my dog her shots, second time I went this young looking doctor with short hair just gave me this nasty death stare, cuz again I had to schedule the latest apps. For shots because of work, and she just kept giving me this ugly look, it's just a hassle to go somewhere else when I already got an exam and vaccines, but at least I don't have to go back now the vaccines are done. Expect for one employee named Romeo, what a great guy!! Only reason I tolerated going!! Give him a raise for dealing with all the workers, and the other receptionist are very nice!
