My six-year-old rescue pup was recently diagnosed with small tissue sarcoma, and my wonderful vet (from another local practice) recommended that we take him to VCA Colonial for surgery. The care he received from everyone there was outstanding. Following his surgery, it was recommended that we follow up with chemotreatment. We were reluctant to go down that path, but the vet oncologist took time with us to allay our fears, and our pup has started treatment and done very well. In the meantime, his original vet left her practice, and I have been so pleased with the care and attention we have received at VCA that I have switched all his care to VCA Colonial. They have both an excellent hospital and medical practice in one convenient location. The entire staff and facilities are tops!

So very happy we chose VCA Colonial Animal Hospital to care for our dog. We brought her there for a surgical consultation. Dr. Whalen and the staff are wonderful. They eased our concerns and the surgery went smoothly. Highly recommended.

Again, I can’t stress enough how happy we are that we choose VCA Colonial Animal Hospital and Dr. Whalen to care for our dog! She is doing wonderfully!

Casey had her anal glands removed by Dr. Socha. He did not only a wonderful job on her but he also did our other dog a few years ago when he had to remove a growth next to his anus and then had to remove one side of his anal glands. Incision area healed beautifully and now we don’t have to keep dealing with those smelly leaking anal gland discharges. I highly recommend any service that is needed at this facility.

Amazing vet clinic! They were able to get us in quickly when our pup needed a knee surgery and the care she received was phenomenal. Dr. Ross was kind and explained every step of the process, the vet techs were communicative and made it clear our dog was in great hands. She’s made a full recovery and I couldn’t be more grateful!

I've gone to VCA for about 1.5 years now. One older cat, a decent number of visits for different health issues, a couple different main vets over that time. They've been a consistently good provider overall.

Good standard of care. I've been happy with how they've handled thyroid issues + normal aging problems with my cat.

Usually running on time. I don't know if I've had to wait >15 minutes past my scheduled appointment time ever.

Their systems for setting up visits, sending receipts, etc. are good. You can text the same number that sends the auto-texts to ask for med refills or questions about appointments and it'll go to staff there. That's useful - usually more convenient than calling to leave a message.

There are two separate auto-texts for confirming appointments for some reason? One from the system and one from the office itself I think. Not a big deal, you just have to send YES/CONFIRM back twice.

Vet visits aren't cheap, but I'd say prices here are consistent with or a bit below the vets I used back in Wisconsin. Way lower than emergency visits at Cornell obviously.

Standard exams run $90+tax for me, tests and meds beyond that vary in price, and simpler visits or quick follow-ups will be less or sometimes free depending on the specifics.

When my pet had an emergency, the staff and physicians were compassionate, helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. I continue here for routine care with Dr. Harris because my difficult pet likes her. The staff is so helpful when I pick up prescriptions, and super friendly!
