*long, but well deserving review* I truly cannot say enough good things about this establishment (just to clarify, Companion Animal Medical Center)! We’ve been part of the “family” for over a year, and the kindness and care shown by the staff are simply unmatched compared to all the other vets we’ve been to. Everyone goes above and beyond, exceeding all my expectations every visit. They take such amazing care of my five animals (yes, I have five, lol), and I would absolutely not trust anyone else with them. Their ability to provide excellent comprehensive treatment is extraordinary.
The team knows us by name—especially my old man, Kingsley—and that sweet personal touch means so much to us. Kingsley’s monthly arthritis and allergy shots have been lifesavers, thanks to not just their thoughtful recommendations for treatment, but also to their knowledge in veterinary medicine. They’ve truly transformed his quality of life and he shows it by chasing off the yard invaders (squirrels).
Beyond their love for Kingsley, their care for my new rescue dog, Hondo, has been exceptional. They suggested short little “happy visits” to help desensitize him to the vet environment—this is truly a compassionate and forward-thinking approach that I’ve never experienced elsewhere. Seriously, what other vet goes to these lengths? THEY DO!
While we absolutely love everyone here, I want to give special shoutouts to: Larissa, Danielle (a heartfelt thank you for coming out to help us say goodbye to dear Henry), Julianna, Kara, Kelsey, Kensey, Ellen, Brittany, and of course, the incredible Dr. Sheryl Johnson. <3 This team is truly one of a kind, and I’m endlessly grateful for the love and care they provide to my fur babies. We had a wonderful experience at VCA in Carmel on Saturday. Julianna was incredibly kind, gentle and compassionate with our dog, Buddy. Buddy was in pain and we weren’t sure if it was his toe or knee or hip or back. They worked us in what we are sure was already a full, busy Saturday. Dr. Zaniker made Buddy comfortable and identified the issue (hip joints). The communication back and forth was clear and helpful. Bill and Verna Boggs

We took our newly adopted kitten, KitKat, here for a wellness exam and to see if she had a URI. From the front desk to the staff in the room, everyone was amazing. I especially enjoyed having Kelsey help us out. You can tell she genuinely loves her job and “patients”. This made me extremely happy to see. Dr. Zaniker was amazing in explaining everything and very gentle with KitKat. Highly recommend mend this office.

The good folks at Companion Animal Center have cared for our ridiculous dog since she was a puppy.

She is always so happy to visit, and each time we walk through the door the sweet staff at the desk always step out to rub her belly and give her love.

The vets have provided exceptional care, and Jennifer is our favorite dog groomer, always giving our puppy love, and silky bows.

I took my cats here for the 9 years I lived in Indy. Each doctor and tech I have worked with were top notch, truly caring about my pets and giving them the best care. I never felt pressured for excess service and knew they offered good quality oversight to my animals’ health. One of my cats is particularly sassy and they were compassionate and understanding every visit. I also took my friend once when her cat needed an emergency procedure, and they did a really nice job helping him through a scary situation!

I went with my sister-in-law as support. She had to put her doggie down. 🥺 The staff was very friendly, understanding, and supportive during a not fun difficult time. If we ever need a new vet I will definitely consider VCA.

This was my first vet trip with my new kitten, and I wasn't sure what to expect. I chose VCA mainly because they are open 24 hours, but this place is great!! The facility is clean and welcoming, and the staff is so friendly! Dr. Wood is amazing - she explained everything clearly (we had lots of questions) and even emailed a detailed summary right after our visit. I highly recommend this place. (And as you can see from the photo, my kitty was very comfortable. Lol)
