I am soullll grateful for this Vet. I have been recommending them to everyone since our initial visit. I was recommended by many and they really live up to their praise. Dr Fernando is truly amazing and efficient. Wiley and I are very very happy. I have an amazing Vet back in LA and have had troubles with others since moving. It’s really comforting knowing that we have a trusted vet here ?

They only wanted me to get my prescription through them, and when I asked about cheaper alternatives to buy the prescription, they acted rude over the phone and told me to call else where to find the prescription.

Dr. Fontaine also tricked me into spending $700 on an xray just to tell me my dog is fine because that was the "only way" to tell if my dog had an old injury even though there was no history or record of her having an injury.

All VCA facilities play on your guilt to get you to spend way more money for vaccines your animals don't need and treatments that are pointless because they don't know if it will work.

Absolute worst animal facilities in the country!!! Do yourself a favor and find a small private practice vet who cares about your animals needs and doesn't see you as an ATM.

Great experience! I was very nervous for my dog to get neutered, but I knew it had to be done. Dr. Avon and staff were friendly and accommodating, I appreciated the time Dr. Avon took examining my Bella and making sure all my questions were answered. The surgery for my dog went smooth, she didn’t seem to be in any pain at all, in-fact she wanted to play when I took her home, she had a smooth recovery. I highly recommend the doctor and staff. Thank you. ?

Dr. Avon was wonderful! We were waiting to receive paperwork from my dog's previous vet and Dr. Avon was so kind and patient and understanding. She asked questions and really seemed like she cared about making sure my dog got the best care possible. Would definitely recommend Dr. Avon!!

I took my dog in here for a check up after adopting him from the local Humane Society. And they were very nice and very attentive. They gave me some good advice to on where to get shots that could be more comfortable. I will definitely probably be back to this place.

I love this VCA. The doctors are so nice as well as the front desk. They always call to check in after an appointment to make sure we are doing okay! I bring all 3 of my dogs here and they are always taken care of.

We adopted a senior dog, and Dr. Chiang and staff were so caring and really helped us bring us peace and comfort before he passed. We have also brought our cat in, and they were equally lovely during her visit. I appreciate how upfront they are with cost and potential benefits of each care item. Even though VCA is a chain, this location feels like a small business that cares. I highly recommend VCA Grossmont to anyone looking for a quality vet.

My dog is a first-time patient. I came in for vaccinations, and gave them her vaccination history on paper printed out (2 documents), but when they asked me if I had any other concerns, I mentioned that her anal glands were leaking a little and I'd like the vet to look at them and make sure everything was ok.

The vet did a pretty quick exam (about 5 minutes) and left without examining under her tail. The proposed treatment plan I was then presented with by another employee (1) had a Rabies vaccine that she was not due for, and (2) was proposing a charge of $37 for anal gland expression even though no rectal exam was done.

I will be totally honest and say that I sternly voiced these 2 concerns of mine, but did not yell nor use profanity, I just strongly corrected the person that my dog was NOT due for a Rabies vaccine, that she had the 3 year vaccine and was not due for another 2 years and I had given them the paperwork which said that. And that I can express the anal glands myself, but I really want a professional to look and see if everything's ok. The employee said they would double check on the Rabies vaccine and correct the treatment plan, and bring the vet in for a rectal exam.

The vet did come back, and did the rectal exam. They said they had only scanned 1 of the 2 documents and that's why they didn't see that Rabies vaccine wasn't needed. I went to the front to pay. Then another employee, after they took my payment, told me, "By the way, on your next visit if we ever hear you being unkind to staff again we're going to ask you to leave." I tried to ask what I had said or done that was unkind, but the woman just said "I think you know." As I said, I did get a little annoyed and probably my voice was a little forceful because I wanted to get my point across but I did not yell or use profanity, and I think it was justified because they didn't listen to my concerns about an exam I wanted but just tried to charge me for anal gland expression, and also almost gave an inappropriate vaccine.

You don't have to worry about me being unkind to your staff in the future, because me and my dog won't be back. Medical errors are very scary, and it's alarming that you don't take them seriously.
