This place has turned into a poor excuse for an “animal hospital”. Not only are they falsely promoting themselves as an “animal hospital” but they turn away their own clients in emergency situations! I called in a panic yesterday because my 17lb doxies had bloody diarrhea, a temp of 105, not eating or drinking and lethargic and was told not to bring her in because they couldn't see her! 10 years I have been going to them and they couldn’t squeeze me in?! Nope! Told me they “aren’t really a hospital” and I should go elsewhere because her fever was very high. They need to remove the “hospital” because they are barely a vets office if they turn away a sick animal. I will be reporting them for misrepresentation! DO NOT USE THIS OFFICE!

UPDATE to whomever responded to this review. There is no reason to email you privately, if you were so concerned you would contacted me personally, therefore, your potential clients need to know the lack of care their pets will receive in the event of an emergency!

After I was turned away from VCA PINES WEST ANIMAL HOSPITAL, I called SOUTH FLORIDA ANIMAL HOSPITAL AND THEY IMMEDIATELY saw my dog! They operate as a regular veterinarian office during normal business hours and then turn into a REAL animal hospital unlike VCA PINES WEST ANIMAL HOSPITAL that falsifies their practice.

I was greeted by caring staff that took my little girl in immediately. The doctor arrived within seconds and my dog greeted them happily with tail wags. After an exam the doctor advised her course of treatment and my little girl received fluids and her first round of antibiotics. She was sent home and by the next day was feeling better.

Had VCA PINES WEST "ANIMAL HOSPITAL" cared about the health and welfare of their animals they would have taken the 15 minutes it took to assess my dog! Instead, I had to LEAVE the parking lot of VCA PINES WEST ANIMAL HOSPITAL and travel 30 minutes east to seek medical care for my sick dog.

If you love your animals and treat them like family please find a veterinarian that does to because VCA PINES WEST would rather turn away a customer of 10 years and a sick dog than squeeze them in for a quick assessment.

Carrie is the very best vet tech! She’s always so kind and patient with our little chi and he does so well with her, despite being very anxious and nervous. She has been with Dr. Berg for many years and we love them both !

Our first visit went well. Dr was explaining and checking what’s needed.
No “hard sell” or being pushy which was very refreshing.
Staff was very friendly

VCA PINE WEST ANIMAL HOSPITAL is exceptional. For over 20+ years we have only trusted Dr. Meacham & Dr.Berg in taking care of our four fur babies. Their compassion & experience puts you at ease whenever you need care for your pet. The entire staff & Tech support is the best. You feel that your pet is safe & in good hands.

Wonderful service being our first visit! Appreciated the "Welcome Bella" sign in our exam room. Even gave markers and color page for my daughter while I filled out paperwork. Our dog was well taken care of.

Dr. Meecham has been so responsive and caring with my hard-to-handle dog who has fear issues at the vet. She has been compassionate and flexible, working with me to plan his visits to cause minimal stress. The entire team at VCA Pines West all know what each other is doing, making communication very efficient. You only have to explain the issue once, I can text or email them, and get a quick response. Today I sent a pic of a recurring issue my dog was having and was able to pick up meds within the hour. Very happy with the service. I've been a patient for about 25 years first with Dr. Berg and now with Dr. Meecham. I've had many dogs and used many vets over the years and am grateful to have Dr. Meecham at Pines West as my vet.

Great staff and facilities, but sadly they overcharge routine checks and vaccines. A regular annual check with parvo vaccine, heartworm and fecal test is over $320 now. I got the same at PetWellClinic for $140, so they are going more than double, and unfortunately I can't justify the extra expense. I have three dogs, and they have no loyalty discounts, the 20% exam fee discount for multiple dogs will only bring the overpriced $100 high fee to a price more comparable to other clinics, so it not really a discount. Their wellness plans are over $500 a year and do not include discounts for extra services or surgery.
For healthy dogs, with a yearly check up and vaccination, there are better options, and I rather start establish a relation with another hospital that has better prices, for that sad day I'll have get a surgery or a special care. The team contacted me by phone and email to give me options but they aren't really competitive. This review is to put pressure on the owners so they understand they are damaging their business when their prices are double. Reward people that bring multiple dogs, reward loyalty, don't overcharge commodity services like vaccines.
