I'm a trans guy. Can't afford therapy. The only meetings they have are for women and teens. I was told they don't accept trans masculine people at the moment. I asked for alternatives. There were none. Was forced to leave. Ironic when you have to exit out a door that says "all are welcome here". The only time people are willing to treat me like a man is when it's used to completely disadvantage me. I'm lost ... I'm numb ... she kept saying it wasn't okay but also kept saying if I try to go to these meetings then that's me "identifying as a woman" ... I don't even know where to go anymore.

They never called me back for a therapy appointment. I’d think they would since the hospital referred me to them but I guess they only help certain people.

WASAC has become a place of refuge for me. I have CPTSD & been in therapy for 9 years. I recently switched to a WASAC therapist after attending a few groups. It hasn't been easy parting ways with my long term therapist but, my new therapist at WASAC has been a huge help in my grieving process AND still able to make progress in my trauma work. After only being under her care for a few months, I've been able to recognize and off-load a lot of shame around my complex trauma. As with any skill, this will take more time, consistency, and practice but I'm already feeling more confident in myself. I'm ready to take the next step in strengthening my interpersonal relationships & thankful I have WASAC to help me navigate that.
Addressing sexual trauma is not easy but if you're brave enough to confront it (and still feel scared at the same time), my experience with WASAC has shown that the staff is ready & able to help in whatever stage of recovery you're in. They're informed, gentle, kind, forgiving, compassionate, and they know that what you're going through takes lots of courage. You're worth it. ♥️✌🏻

I think this is a great place. Very compassionate understanding, and trauma informed. I have seen agencies where they say they're trauma informed and our not. If it was for the staff at WASAC I would probably not be here. They have helped me through a lot of traumas. From almost being killed to being in abuse and neglect with mental health to helping me with being in trouble with court. WASAC helped by showing how I did educational classes. Thanks WASAC!

Please Ignore Karen's review. She has been a mental health professional since 2011. She also reviewed "The Healing Place" in North Carolina negatively. Despite (with a very quick search) only living in Washington and Nebraska.She is behaving worse than a troll. (A real professional mental health provider doesn't behave in a way that would shine a negative light on such crisis clinics.)

For an actual review now. I never would have done this review for my own privacy to be risked but I hate to think of anyone not seeking the aid after sexual abuse or domestic violence especially due to a bigot. Child, teen, adult, whoever you are reading this if you are looking for hope, this is it. This is an excellent first step for any survivor. You remain ANONYMOUS. That is huge in my opinion. And guess what it is free. You don't need to suffer alone. It is also never too late to heal those wounds. It is never too late to be the you that you want to be. Be Brave <3.

This is an excellent beginning resource.The sooner an individual gets help after sexual asault or any type of violence the lower the risk of developing ongoing emotional and or mental health injuries.

I would not recommend this center for therapy to adults with long term suffering manifesting from childhood molestation when in need of more than a first step.

I will recommend this center to anyone in an emotional crisis needing a verbal outlet and a genuine empathetic listener.
